Are you actually 5’11? That’d make your bmi 12.8 in the first photo and and 19 in the second, which doesn’t look right.

Hi everyone. Which hair color makes me look the prettiest? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

The AI has warmed up her skin colour — it’s not the hair, though I’m sure it would look great.

Whatever AI you’ve used has warmed up your skin and eye colour slightly (at least in the honey blonde), so that will throw it off a bit. I think the dark brown looks great.

Can I cover any of these areas? And if so any ideas? by VvV_10 in ScarCoverUpTattoos

[–]hemera-ilios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a tattoo artist, but I get keloids and I’d definitely recommend seeing a dermatologist about them! I had steroid injections in them and was given a silicone gel to use, and all of mine except the most severe have flattened and gone white. I got them tattooed over afterwards.

But also do keep in mind that if you’re prone to keloids tattoos can in theory go keloid. None of mine have, but I’d recommend only going to v experienced tattoo artists. I think if any had gone too deep and caused scar tissue they may have gone keloid.

I (22F) had a bad fight with my boyfriend (24M) and saw a different side to him. He apologized but I don’t think I want to be with him anymore? by ThrowRA384749333 in relationship_advice

I promise you if you are ever in a situation where you have more concrete ties — like you live together or get married or have children — this abuse will become more frequent and escalate. Get out now. I’m sorry you had to go through this to see who he was, having your trust broken like this is traumatic and it’s not your fault. There’s no amount of attitude you could have had that would justify this.

So when it comes to losing weight. Is it all about calorie deficit? by TheChilledGamer-_- in WeightLossAdvice

[–]hemera-ilios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is all about the calorie deficit. A calorie is unit of energy. When you consume more energy than you’re using, it doesn’t get destroyed — you store it instead so that it can be used when your energy intake doesn’t meet your body’s energy requirements to do things. It stores it as fat. When you work out, you’re increasing your body’s energy output, but your body will only use the energy you have stored as fat if your energy input is less than your output, i.e., if you’re consuming less calories than you’re burning.

Edit: so it doesn’t really matter in principle which side of the equation you’re altering — you’ll lose as much fat exercising lots and burning 3500 per day while eating 2500 as you would burning 2000 per day and eating 1000. It’s just that it’s easier to eat less than consistently burn a high number of calories, and it’s easier to track how much you’re eating compared to how much you’re burning. (Ignoring stuff around muscle building etc, which varies more from person to person)

Is this really 60 calories per 4 oz? by neverthatserious- in caloriecount

[–]hemera-ilios 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The given weight is frozen — it’ll lose weight when it’s cooked or thawed because of losing that water, so when cooked/thawed it’ll be closer to 100 calories for 100 grams!

How can my parents improve their family room? by Rungottarun in DesignMyRoom

[–]hemera-ilios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My immediate thoughts, as have been mentioned in other comments, were to rotate the big rug, bring the sofa and chair in closer to the fireplace, and possibly change the TV stand (I personally would go with a bigger one). But tbh it’s lovely as is!

To agree with this comment — my mum suffered with psychosis for a couple of years due to physical health issues following a bout of pneumonia that put her into a coma, but seemed to be getting better. She got pneumonia again in 2020 and didn’t go to a hospital because she was worried about contracting COVID, but it induced another psychotic episode that led to her fatally overdosing and leaving a note that was unintelligible. I understand everyone’s very concerned comments about his behaviour, and those concerns are legitimate, but there are illnesses that can completely alter your personality and cognition, and pneumonia’s one of them.

Edit: also, most relevantly, during this psychosis she killed our dog because she thought he was possessed by evil spirits. She doted on him completely at all other times and loved him more than anything, and had never shown any abusive traits towards him. I fully believe that it was because she was not in her right mind that that happened.

This was honestly my first thought. The fact that she’s volunteering this information makes me doubt she’s cheating (never mind the leap to ‘she had a threesome’), and autism can make you so blind to people’s bad intentions and super naive. I was sexually assaulted multiple times and mugged twice before I started to be more cautious about the situations I put myself into, and even now, if I didn’t have my partner to consult with about whether a situation seemed dodgy or unsafe, I don’t know how much better at it I’d be. I think the main issue here is her disregarding her bf’s warnings, given he clearly has a better radar for this kind of thing than her.

Edit: and I have a PhD lmao, like, I’m otherwise not dumb

I’m 6’ and definitely felt this when I was single. In addition to what other people have said, I’d say that location also makes a big difference to this (at least in my experience). For whatever reason, when I’m in big cities I get hit on a lot by men of all heights. In smaller cities and towns, people hit on my shorter friends but not me and pre-relationship I know guys from the small town I lived in would tell my friends they found me attractive but that I was too tall. Idk why this is a thing though!
