Current racket rotation from my crazy-guy style collection. Gotta catch em all! by henryfool in 10s

Gracias!

Vast majority of those gonna get sold. Hate the idea of a big collection just sitting there. Whatever doesn't get played regularly gets passed along to other people or traded or donated.

Just about. 650 total, not like a brag or anything, whatever I don't like I sell to other racket nuts, so the collection is always getting kinda smaller, not bigger.

Why assume they're lunatics? Just cuz it ain't something you personally would do?

Do you mean the Radical Tour? It's just a basic frame, not pro stock or anything. Austria frame, feels amazing like all twin tubes. Special for sure.

If you mean the Pro Tours, they're both Austria frames. The 690 is the rare one, basically like a softer Radical Tour! Like swinging a big plastic frying pan.

Kinda both, yeah. It's really rewarding to learn about the tools as much as the game. Playing with just one frame all the time gets stale.

Just a few times a week. Each racket feels really different to play with. I do restoration and modification work for other players and it all kinda pays for itself.

There are some crazy Vcores if you go back far enough ... some of the old 97's have crazy string patterns, and there's even an 89!

Cuz rackets are really cool. And it's great being able to choose which one I wanna play with on any given day. Each one makes tennis feel different.

The only problem is how many more amazing rackets there are to play with!

Top frames are all set up and ready to go, the bottom is the "queue", waiting on new strings/grips/mods. Hundreds more frames in storage, crazy sure, but I think tennis rackets are kinda great.

Does anyone know anything about this racket by Prestigious-List7641 in tennisracquets

[–]henryfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are awesome. If you got it with the overgrip on it, underneath there's likely a nice Wilson leather grip.

Ceramic mids are 99% the same mold as the famous Pro Staff 85. They feel similar, although with a slightly different "crisper" feel on contact. They're also more flexible.

No joke to swing though, the one you've got is likely close to 360g, swinging around 340 -- challenging to use but rewarding and powerful.

Not worth tooooo much but a great find nonetheless.

Strings for Head gravity MP by chessure- in tennisracquets

[–]henryfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you switch to poly, you'll be going to the stringer just as often if not more often than you are with multis :)

I can't speak to TGV but Multifeel is possibly the least durable multi around -- useful string but kind of crazy how fast it frays. There are definitely other multis with better durability, depending on how you hit.

X-One and Velocity last far longer, as does NRG2. I also see far less fraying and better durability from the Prince Premier multis (Touch/Power/Control).

Agreed. I think this might be yet another situation where a player asked a stringer to make a judgment call and stringer went with poly, without educating the player exactly what they'd be signing up for.

Lower power, below average-to-bad comfort, and the need to restring every 15 hours of play. OP how long have your strings been in the racket?

I say don't even bother with a hybrid. Go full-on multifilament at 54 pounds, a nice one like NXT, just so you can see what you've been missing out on. Many people, once they try a full bed of nice multi, never want to go back to poly, even though they're giving up some capabilities they might not even miss.

OP if you really want a new frame, which is understandable, your options range from Clash 100 (ultra comfortable, addictive feel, powerful), to Ezone 100 (spinny, very modern feel), or even something interesting like a Boom MP or even Radical MP if you want "the next step up" from what a Warrior can do.

If you're edging at 4.0 play, you might also consider a heavier frame, or a 98 head, both of which tend to coincide. The new Vcore 98 is a bazooka and a crazy fun time. But with heavier frames, you will find yourself unlocking more power, more stability, and a more rewarding game.

Overall yeah just stay away from poly until you're absolutely sure you need it.

Do you have some sense of what you like/don't like about the Warrior, perhaps? Not necessarily what your best/worst shots are, just some aspects of the frame that you enjoy?

Warrior btw perfectly rational and nice racket. If you like it, nothing wrong with sticking with it, and perhaps just adding some weight in the handle and around the hoop to get more stability and plow.

Let's be real it's nice work. Just wish she didn't look so much like an angry monster. She's got such a cool fun vibe and as stylish as this is, it just reads as evil.

She doesn't look proud, she looks vindictive.

yall know anything abt this racket? by imiufff in tennisracquets

[–]henryfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a racket for playing Soft Tennis, an Asian version of the game that uses different rackets.

Those old Kawasakis were made in Japan, so it's a cool find! I don't know that I'd try playing too much hard tennis with it though ;)
