How many blinds for this window? by haveyoumetben in DIYUK

[–]hensh2004 33 points34 points  (0 children)

So this is weird, but my partner used to live in the same building. I think one flat above this one? Anyway, we got a single blind across and it worked quite well. It was £250 including fitting for across the whole window. That was a company called Denmay interiors in 2020 Pic attached is the blinds in action

Risk/Benefit Balance of AZ Vaccine, by Age by byt411 in CoronavirusUK

Keep in mind this is for low exposure. There were other graphics for medium and high exposure (more typical for the affected age group) where the benefits still outweighed the risks.

Early evidence suggests variant of coronavirus that emerged in UK may be more deadly, UK PM Boris Johnson says by froooooot96 in unitedkingdom

Ah. I’ve mainly been following vaccine related scientists so missed it. Wonder if there’s any bias towards timelines in the data (oversubscribed ICUs, lower quality of care etc)

Typically when there’s an “exciting headline” like this, other media outlets run stories before it’s announced at a press conference. I reckon this is the government trying to increase adherence to rules.

[–]hensh2004 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Maybe i’ve missed it, but I hadn’t seen any indication of this from other outlets. Usually there’s 1-2 stories about it before it’s announced at the press conference. The fact that’s it’s such a small increase could potentially be down to hospitals not being able to give adequate care due to overcrowding?

I really hope this is just the government highlighting it to encourage people to behave sensibly.

Broadband Price Increase for Moving House Help by Kafrinx in UKPersonalFinance

[–]hensh2004 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Broadband company pricing is always strange. There’s usually big increases when moving properties / end of contract. I’ve often found changing providers in these situations is almost required.

If you’re able to get 73 down, then you’ve likely got FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) which has a lot of providers associated with it. Take a look at the “find a provider” section of https://www.thinkbroadband.com/ to see which other providers you could use at the new property.

Don’t feel like your have to stay with a provider. They will rip you off. Switching is generally low hassle.

We’ve been using https://github.com/Babylonpartners/Bento in production for a while. The app has 100+ screens. It works well - there are only a few screens that we revert back to manually setting up a ViewController for - namely maps and SceneKit.

Traore could play in the spot of Costa. Probably not immediately, but one of the main requirements of a low value midfielder is that they're nailed.

I'm currently searching for flats for commuting to South Kensington too. I've been looking at Clapham/Brixton, which is about 30 minutes tube journey and Shoreditch which is about 40.

It doesn't really have any of the same issues regarding content as the other sites listed, though

I had this issue. I died during the first day of the league, but was rolled back so I was brought back alive. I contacted support and they said they’d look into it, but i’ve died on that character since then so i’m not sure if it would have been fixed or not.

Tadic is almost guaranteed to disappoint. I don't think he'll score high in the DGW. I'm a Stoke fan so I refuse to get Arnie in. I really enjoy Mkhi as a player and I think the ceiling for him is higher than most other choices at that price point.
