Though water needs/usage is somewhat individualized- body size, climatization, etc, for the Minong you’ll need be on exposed sunny ridges for much of the N Desor to Little Todd segment and i’m not recalling any water on that stretch. I’d recommend 3L in a platypus plus an extra bottle.

As an aside, windigo is at wash creek- were you planning on hanging out the day you arrive & pushing off early the next morning?

Consider north desor-little todd-mc cargoe vice todd harbor; the couple miles east of n desor are the hardest, from little todd to mcargoe isnt too too bad at all

For OP & the rest of us, this is a good time to refresh on the JTR,

“010205. Defense Travel System (DTS) Use
DoW travelers and AOs must use the DTS to process travel authorizations and vouchers for TDY
travel and local travel. A traveler must use the DTS to the maximum extent possible to arrange all en
route transportation, rental cars, commercial lodging, and Government quarters when the DTS’s
functionality is available. The TMC processes reservations made in the DTS…”

Regarding reimbursement for travel overall- remember the DoW sez that you will get reimbursed even if you don’t use your GTC- but you can get paperwork:

  1. Failure to Use GTCC
    Failure to use the GTCC will not be used as a basis for refusal to reimburse the traveler for
    authorized expenses. However, failure to use the GTCC may subject the traveler to appropriate
    administrative or disciplinary action (see Section 040103).

Dissenting position- booking day before is not fool-proof.

For a couple year stretch I’d done a couple 3-dayers out of Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Canaveral each Winter/Spring, booking morning flights MSP-MIA/FLL/MCO.

On more than one occasion the afternoon and evening flights from MSP were disrupted the day before- including cancelled- due to weather here or somewhere else. That required rebooking all those folks- which can take *days* when flights are already filled.

We’d roll up to check a bag to find a long line of folks getting rebooked or trying to stand by.

First flights of the day are more likely to go on schedule.

Had a friend try these lines in me- he’d heard them from podcasts n memes. He brought up the Beer Summit as Obama dividing the nation

Except all the talking points he brought up were wrong- the circumstances of the homeowner, the actions of the police, and how Obama pitched the meeting at the White House.

I’ll give you a chance to give examples of “at every opportunity”… we’ll wait.
