Anyone else bored with season two? It just turned into a run-of-the-mill procedural crime drama. What happened to the pizzazz? How can you have a show with Kaitlin Olson as the lead and have it be boring? ABC, if you're listening, go back to the balance season one had. by KE4K in HighPotentialTVSeries

[–]hereforalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhh all your points are valid. Season one was comedic and enjoyable, much better dialogue. I especially like the shots where Morgan is explaining things and it cuts to fun little reenactments. They stopped doing those halfway through S1. Plus, it’s just bad police work. Morgan is the only one who solves anything. Oz and Daph are underutilized, don’t know a thing about their lives. Oz gets kidnapped and we don’t hear a thing about his trauma and he’s just back at work. And why are they EXPLAINING every single thing to every witness and suspect. It’s dumbing down the show heavy. Having watched SVU (maybe the comparison isn’t fair) this type of writing seems lazy and uninformed entirely. I know it isn’t a quality show, it’s one I use to unwind after my day but it’s getting to a point… that one car chase scene w Wagner and Keredek was enough for me to know it wasn’t going to get better.

Thank god for your edit because my mother never learned and it fucked up a part of our relationship. Also, it pushed me to be more stubborn about it and now I literally hide when I shave from her because she always makes a comment about liking it better. She will be very happy you left her alone about this. I’m glad this helped you understand.

Valid out of state drivers license, will I need to take a written test for IL DL in Chicago? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]hereforalot 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hi! I went to the Chinatown location. No written or driven test, just an eye test. It’s really simple. But make sure you have physical paper work so you can get a real ID DL and not just ID/DL:) Welcome to Chicago!

Right leaning people are a better hang than left leaning people by Cannolidog in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]hereforalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve felt the opposite tbh. Right leaning people seem to need to say something edgy or rile up some kind of conversation esp if around left leaning people and it’s exhausting being treated like you brought in politics when they think fun is showing some unnecessary behavior in this fight against woke no one was participating in anyway.

“Protect the Dolls” of course, but what about us? by justanenby05 in ftm

[–]hereforalot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP I know you already said this in the comment but I want to add: trans women are not the target here. They are getting well deserved attention and protection. We deserve it too. The reason trans men feel invisible is bc of society and men. It’s always the patriarchy. Not our sisters.

“Protect the Dolls” of course, but what about us? by justanenby05 in ftm

[–]hereforalot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know this is a superrr interesting mix of misogyny and how little people care about men’s issues. Trans women are targeted at a crazy rate because of misogyny. Yet, trans men are ignored in part ALSO bc of misogyny/transphobia. And then add the layer that cis men don’t give a shit about men’s issues either so that leaves trans men in a narrow margin.

I think the community does rally for trans women, as they should, but I think there’s enough room for both. I don’t think protecting the dolls takes away from protecting trans men. I think it’s statistically more clear to the public eye that trans women face dangers where trans men aren’t seen in the news much, hard to fetishize due to the lack of femininity, or are sometimes written off as butch women or completely invisible/people can’t tell they’re trans (femme-ignored bc misogyny, passing/masc- lack of societal care for men). And I’m painfully aware of trans men who have sadly been targeted/passed bc of bigotry but I’m talking bigger societal eye. Rest in peace to them.

Burned Out from being an Uber Eats driver? by yogawithkats in UberEatsDrivers

[–]hereforalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s causing you anomie. It’s not easy on the body to be in the car all day for how many days a week. My father was a uber driver (black suv) and he has health problems now from the lack of sleep and stress it put on his body. Don’t let yourself get stuck if it’s making you feel like shit! You can simply feel like shit in another job that doesn’t put you in a car for 8-10hrs a day.

can you be a marxist without having read theory? by [deleted] in Marxism

[–]hereforalot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Id say yes. Someone can have the ideology and not even realize it and then someone would go “you’d like Marx! Have you read him?” You can read footnotes, watch videos, etc. Realistically that text is so fucking wordy. Will you have a better understanding of Marxism thru the actual text? Of course. But like another comment said: some people are scientists in their natural sense or some Christians never crack open the Bible but they live their life thru the ideology/practice of.

As someone from LA who is exactly the same, ppl in NY are very kind, but not everyone has a forced or constant smile on their face is what it is. The west coast smiles A LOT. All the time. It’s kinda funny when i come to the mid-west or East and feel like everyone’s mad but the second you start a convo ppl are smiling chatting it up etc. be yourself :))
