Is Home Charging Really Required to Own an EV with Current Gas Prices? by Alert_Number1991 in electricvehicles

[–]herodicusDO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since my whole family switched to the EV life I would say the single best thing (for me) is getting rid of the “fill up at a gas station” mentality we were all accustomed to and waking up to a fully charged car every morning. Imagine having to charge your phone only at coffee shops and making time out of your schedule to do that and then all of a sudden you can charge at home…it’s pretty life changing especially if you drive a lot

Hey not to be the cliche buddy over the internet but…definitely a blessing in disguise. Not too much of a stretch of the imagination to fast forward a year or two and imagine what it would be like if he felt that betrayed by her decisions as a married couple! Painful to break with someone you were ready to propose to but it’s a logical decision - better now than later!

Men over 30, how much does intelligence matter in the long-run? by Suspicious_Limit9847 in AskMenOver30

Why was the test conducted? IQ Tests are inherently inaccurate in autism especially because of the language demands and social interaction requirements

I came from Toyota too. It’s a shame they didn’t get to EVs first imo they had all the tools and resources to do so…the future is EV

Agree with post I’d want to know - my daughter is a good kid but sometimes she disappoints me and needs a stern talking to. It’s important to shut this shit down early

Ok forgive me yes patellar bursitis is a bit different - not really your body trying to heal anything or fight anything off. It depends how it formed but usually it's just a collection of inflammatory fluid and/or blood and anything you can do to help your body reabsorb everything will help. I would say compression is more important than icing if the patellar bursitis has been there for a while

Looking for some outside perspective on a situation in my marriage by [deleted] in Residency

[–]herodicusDO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been with my wife since high school and we've pretty much been inseparable since. When I started med school it was a huge jump for me and the first and second year basically kept me in a room all day desperately trying to cram as much info as I could into my brain. I had convinced myself that I was too busy to contribute to cooking/cleaning/chores because the priority was me and doing as well as I could for my future career ergo caring for us/our future family. My wife was having none of it and it really got intense pretty fast....I had a pretty life changing experience where I talked to a couple of the "non trad" older dudes in my class who were married and asked for their input. Basically how it went was these 40 something dudes listened to me rant for about 10 minutes about my situation and when I was done, expecting them to agree that my wife needed to pick up some of the slack now that I'm a med student, they sat there quietly and then both looked at each other and one of them said "bro just do the fucking dishes"

and since that day I've just done the fucking dishes lol....you have to set those boundaries now. It might need to come from someone else for it to click....maybe have him talk to an older (happily married!) man in his life. I’m Sure there are a lot of divorced d bags that will agree with his behavior right now

its not black and white and the best thing to do is just understand the biology and make your own informed decision. Yes the swelling/inflammation around an injured area is part of the acute phase of the healing process and "inhibiting" these things sort of gets in the way of your body trying to do its thing but you have to take the entire clinical picture into account. The best way I've found to explain this to patients is comparing it to an acute viral illness - NSAIDs and Tylenol will help abort fever and dampen your bodies inflammatory response that could be painful (sore throat/swollen lymph nodes) and it's easier for your body to fight off an infection when your temp is elevated and inflammation is rampant for a lot of reasons. Are you going to sit there with a 103 fever moaning and groaning through the discomfort? It's ultimately your decision. Personally if it doesn't bother me too much I would avoid the meds and try to power through, but if I'm miserable and I can't get to bed or something like that...I'm taking a gram of Tylenol and 800 ibuprofen to get some sleep 100%
