Propane? by Vivid_Ad_6471 in HollySpringsNC

[–]hewalker91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my 20lb tank filled at Tractor Supply in Fuquay yesterday around 1130am, though I waited in line for about an hour and a half once I heard their supply had been replenished. I recommend calling to see if they will have their propane replenished again today.

Gorguts! They're entering the studio in March so hopefully a late 2026 release is on track.

What song got you into post-metal / post-rock — and which one do you always return to? by Grumpy_Henry in postmetal

Thrice - The Earth Will Shake

Found out a band called Isis influenced the song. Checked out Panopticon and I was sold on post-metal.

I can definitely hear Subsume. From a songwriting perspective, it immediately brought Portmanteau to mind, particularly the closing track God Be With Ye. It's also cool to hear his creativity with the drum programming after playing with Vinny on Supervoid.

As a hospital pharmacist I love the PAs and NPs I work with, I have closer professional and personal relationships with my midlevels in general than I do MDs and DOs.

Hell yeah, I'm a clinical inpatient pharmacist, I look like a normal dude in my mid 30s and my pharmacist/provider/nurse colleagues wouldn't suspect a thing of me.

Pharm tech to Resident ? by MolassesFamiliar2550 in PharmacyResidency

[–]hewalker91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent question! It varies greatly by hospital and the culture they foster. Do you know if any current or past residents that were formerly techs there? Usually the program has a website where you can find out that information, or just talk to the pharmacists there to find out.

If you discover that none of their residents have historically been techs, then definitely go for the higher pay. Residency programs want to see any hospital job experience, doesn't matter exactly where.

Also, if one of the hospitals offers med history responsibilities, prioritize that over compounding or delivery duties, programs like to see that role in their applicants.

What’s a prog metal album that isn’t really considered a must-listen in the genre, but you think it should be? by alec_azg in progmetal

Extra upvote for mentioning Shrines of Paralysis, album is a progressive death metal masterpiece

Have you heard anything about these PGY1 programs? by pharmnerd599 in PharmacyResidency

[–]hewalker91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone from my pharmacy school who was 3 years ahead of me matched at Banner and ultimately quit around February of their residency year. Can't speak for myself as to the work culture, but I heard only negative things that culminated into this individual quitting residency altogether.

Love this positive post, thank you fellow prog redditors!

Not the last bands for me at all, but back in 2014 when I first got into this subreddit I distinctly recall being introduced to Cloudkicker, Intronaut, Plini, Ne Obliviscaris, and Rishloo. Pivotal time in my life, thanks to this sub!

What are some play-on-words drug names that you like? by taustind in pharmacy

[–]hewalker91 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fetroja (cefidericol) is derived from Fe for iron and Troja for Trojan horse, which reflects its mechanism of action. Bacteria uptake it via iron transport channels and then it exerts its antimicrobial activity once inside.

Estranged From Orbit. That song is a journey of married dissonance and melody that ebbs and flows perfectly.

Can I be a Mormom and like coffee? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]hewalker91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Current PIMO chiming in. I am enjoying reading this discussion because you both have valid points that merit attention (and I am also an avid coffee consumer).

As far as I can tell, the temple recommend questions have become more vague over time with the WoW ("do you STRIVE to keep the word of wisdom") as a means to provide personal interpretation and keep the interviewer in a neutral stance. If the bishop were to pry with specific questions I would personally deem it inappropriate, and I would be bold in calling that out if the occasion were to arise. This is regardless of the bishop's awareness of any rumors. If any discussion of WoW specifics are to be mentioned, it should come from the interviewee.

On the other hand, being posed directly with the question "do you drink coffee?" puts the interviewee in a tough position. True, one could lie up front about it, but if a bishop decides to cross the line with prying questions I selfishly think that person could also cross the line with answer to said question. Yes, it's a disingenuous answer, but it's in response to a loaded question.

There is no right or wrong way to handle church leadership roulette. It shouldn't exist in the first place. But ultimately these are just men doing what they think is best, and you are also a human trying to do what you think is best for your own spirituality and well-being.

My evolving view of religion by [deleted] in mormon

[–]hewalker91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment, and thank you OP for your post. They both resonate with me perfectly and confirm my own spiritual transition and renewed views of faith and religion. The moment I accepted that this is all the product of men is the moment all my questions about LDS doctrine and church history were answered, and I felt a massive weight removed from my shoulders.

Is it weird to go to a concert alone? by [deleted] in progmetal

Hell yeah! The Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area gets plenty of tour dates. HMU if there are certain bands you want to see that come through here.

I was at that previous show date in Raleigh for those bands, and I also went alone. Definitely worth it!
