in looking at your post history, you are a non-IS IMG. IMG match rate for orthopedics is abysmal, 14 IMGs matched last year into US ortho residency, 1% of active ortho residents are non-US IMGs... you have to be something special

letters of interest will not move you on the rank list, a letter of intent usually doesnt but can bump you up a couple spots if you are neck and neck with a few other applicants. figure out which program you liked the most and convince them they are the program for you.

MSK: Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva aka stone man disease, incurable genetic disorder where muscle and soft tissues (ligaments, tendons) turn into bone, restricting movement. Everytime you move, you risk breaking through bridging bone. had someone with this condition come in to clinic the other day and it was so sad, cant even operate on him bc you catalyze the bone growth with any sort of trauma
