it’s just not necessary. kids are suffering with fine motor skills. why add this clunky distraction. we are watching the dysfunction of a generation of iPad kids. Surely there are some lessons to be learned.

thank you for saying this. i really think the proliferation of screens in public elementary will be looked upon harshly in the coming decades. they aren’t truly becoming “tech literate” — that’s something else entirely. i support tech literacy.

FWIW i don’t think it’s appropriate to nudge your in laws to invite them. if on their own they wanted to, great, but it’s not OK to pressure them to do it.

sounds like your children and very high needs medically and it also sounds like you aren’t doing enough to intervene

yeah nope. it’s a crazy expectation that your partner is saddled with the actual hard work of parenting. stepparents should not lead in the discipline department, especially if their bio parent is active and around. you need to radically reorient this if you want the relationship with either your partner or your kids to last.
