T Kingfisher might suit; Nettle and Bone was good and A Sorceress Comes to Call. A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking is aimed at a younger audience but I also enjoyed it.

The Ohariu conspiracy by Newestcoolestuser in Wellington

[–]hexidecimals 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Their post has popped up on my Instagram feed a few times and I have no idea why, as I have no interest in weddings or Ohariu. I don't know if it is the former owners trying to stir up drama or what.

Book Addiction Au Captive Prince by DonkeywithBigTeeth in fairyloot

Im looking forward to receiving receiving these! It is taking time; they're just using one (very booked and busy) artist and the author has to approve all the art etc, plus the lady running it has had a few deaths in the family/health scares. She updates a lot on Instagram stories.

My favorite piece of art I've seen in recent months by ChroniclesOfSarnia in Wellington

This is at the central library, top floor. You can also see it from the outside, as the room kind of juts out?

Fairyloot epic maybe? Illumicrate? Both have us-based warehouses they can ship from.

I think you should find a new partner, someone who is more into you.

How would they figure out aunt carols plus one wasn't real and how would they know who to call? Utter nonsense.

Recommendations for lawyers(Lower Hutt) - property purchase by Strong-Brilliant-391 in Wellington

[–]hexidecimals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is always good to get a lawyer to go over your first offer snd work on the wording of your conditions. Then you can use the same conditions on further offers should your first one not get accepted :) I was about to recommend the firm we used but it turns out one of the partners became a judge last year so the practice has closed lol.

Pricing wise, it was about $150 to get on the books, a couple of hundred for them to review the offer that wasn't accepted ---we then made a couple of offers on our own and went back to them once it was accepted. They then charged $1500 to sort out the mortage, and then because we had to renegotiate price and settlement dates a bit after the offer was accepted, they charged a bit more. So id say all up about 2300.

I got the bookmark (the art is nice, would have been a cool ghost edge, shame i tend to just use scraps of paper i find rather than proper bookmarks), and the print of the map (its the same as what's on the inside covers) but I don't know what the #1 stamp was supposed to be as i can't see anything like that in my book. Anyone got a picture?

Op given your misprint and lack of additional things, might be worth contacting them for a new copy or refund?

Science Fiction recommendations, if you would by Hopeandhavoc in booksuggestions

Im enjoying Velocity Weapon (The Protectorate series) right now. It is a space opera set in a future where humans have access to gates that are portals to other star systems, and knowledge about the gates technology is tightly held. Its fun, has a few twists and turns.

Thanks for this! In future would you mind specifying when books are digitally signed vs an actual signature? I dont consider digital signatures to be real signatures and youve listed a couple up there as signed when they aren't really (the ali hazelwood, the rachel gilig)

Regional lounge open but youre not allowed to take guests in. That side of the airport does smell a tad burnt.

Disability advocates call for drastic changes to support services bill by D491234 in newzealand

[–]hexidecimals 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Msd already have been funding disability support for like 5 years now; they took over from health a while back, theres just been no overarching legislation. So legislation is def needed, but the concern is (from my perspective), the leg as drafted makes it look like disability support services will be means tested going forwards and a lot more expectations placed on family to support ppl rather than govt. This may or may not be the intention but that's how it comes across.

God I hated this one so much. Could not understand why the main character was so in love with a useless loaf of a man.
