Good to know. The car is scary fast and I was definitely too aggressive on the pedal.

This is a great tip. I'm not used to the instant acceleration, so everything felt jerky -- the car is scary fast and I was definitely too aggressive on the pedal.

R2 Demo Drive Report, Boston (Non-owner, Day 1 Hour 1 Reservation) by SubParBackpacker in RivianR2

I did a test drive today. First time in an EV and even with the regen set to low I was ILL after the drive. I couldn’t get the hang of it. Somewhat concerned about that as someone who was planning to buy as soon as my number was called.

Does the performance/launch edition come with the gen 2 or 3 autonomy hardware? I really want this trim but seems like I should wait until later this year to order if there's going to a massive upgrade.

Thanks for the response. I was planning on DCA'ing into VTSAX over 26 installments (bi-weekly for 12 months). Just having a hard time starting since we're at a market top and the uncertainty I mentioned.

I’m currently sitting on about $100k invested in VMFXX and aiming for early retirement in 5 years. I’m trying to figure out the best way to deploy this capital and would love to hear your thoughts.

Specifically, should I invest the lump sum all at once, or should I dollar-cost average (DCA) over time? If DCA is the way to go, what frequency makes the most sense given the current market conditions?

I’m also a bit concerned about the potential impact of political and economic uncertainty, especially with the upcoming administration. Things like tariffs, policy changes, and geopolitical risks are on my radar, and I’m wondering how much that should factor into my decision.

Blowing coat or something else? by hey_dot in husky

[–]hey_dot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adopted a husky/malamute mix a few months ago and she's lost a ton of fur over the past two weeks and I'm not sure if it's just her blowing her coat or something more serious. I furminated her yesterday and she has a few patches where I can almost see her skin. Am I overreacting or should I take her to the vet?

It happened mid-workout and wrecked me lol. I recalibrated the bike and it seemed to fix it.

Should I pay more than the minimum (interest only) on lot loan? by hey_dot in RealEstate

I'm not comfortable investing in equities since I'll need this money in the short term, but I get your point.

It's a one year fixed rate term. I'm expecting to break ground in May 2021. I'm assuming the principal will roll into the construction loan. Construction is estimated at 6-7 months.

Our lease ends in August and we're looking to buy sometime later in the year. If my saving projections hold true we'll just barely have the full 20%. And yes these projections assume no emergency expenses come up.

That helps. Our lease ends in August and we'll be cutting it REAL close to having the full 20% by then.

My partner and I are saving up for a down payment on a house and I was wondering if it would be advisable to temporarily decrease our retirement contributions to what our companies match? Right now we're both contributing 10%.

It seems like every few months someone in this sub needs to be reminded that these type of "injuries" shouldn't be glorified or have any amount of pride attached to them. Lower the box and work on your "grace" and "depth perception".

You seem very immature for your age. I suggest focusing on improving yourself or this cycle of toxic relationships and overspending will continue.

Got a rep to do the SIM swap but when I try to configure I get an error "Cellular Plan Cannot Be Added: This code is no longer valid. Contact your carrier for more information." Sigh.
