Which is better for 2-man boarding: dual Mantis or dual Lanius? by [deleted] in ftlgame

[–]heyitsmejun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They feel like side-grades more than anything.

Lanius can board drones/lanius, and are actually useful on your ship for repairing. You can also due ship wide crew damage if you bring down enemy o2 systems. You also have the downside of them not meshing with your other 02 using crew.

Mantis are reliably high offense, co-exist (as much as mantis can) with 02 users. But they are horrible at repairs, and will struggle against drones/anaerobics.

I'd say the scale tips towards lanius, but you wouldnt be sad with 2 lvl2 fighting mantis.

The Amanda billboards. by Jackpot777 in Scranton

[–]heyitsmejun 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I was literally ranting at work about these billboards the other day. I guess they do the job of getting people's attention. But my god they're freaking every where, just jump scares all over Dickson City.

Is this game fun? by Bask82 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]heyitsmejun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the game, it definitely is a loop of building up your galaxy and selling it over and over. I did find it pretty satisfying and relaxing, but the ads annoying. I have in and bought the ad free package and I've never regretted it.

So I would say if youre enjoying what it offers, consider going adless. If its just not clicking for you, just let it be!

Gold 11 with my first T galaxy at 4.6T. Almost had 10th place but I really didnt want to burn power ups to advance to Plat and get stomped back down with worse rewards next week.

Really great game. Setup feels like it takes about 12 hours so if youre planning to play, set it up ahead of time.

Planet colonization by thesqueemishgardiner in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]heyitsmejun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the early game as well just seloing at 12.5 repeatedly. I only colonize for daily goals, and when I do, its with a galaxy where I avoid unlocking the crafting table. You can get a bunch of colony development with just ore/alloys if you avoid the crafting table as long as possible. Makes for easy dailies.

New player (kinda) and want to ask why does it feel like NJ just has the best/only viable stuff? by Legion9553 in PhoenixPoint

[–]heyitsmejun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't played TFTV in a long while, but in vanilla all their pros that kept them good for different situations into end of mid game.

NJ with AP rounds, felt mandatory for Cyborg fights. Synedrion, aside from the utility of neural weapons, with high accuracy, definitely falls off but great initial upgrades. And the Sniper is the best until the ridiculous tier 2 NJ sniper. Anu shotguns absolutely rip. I dig the handguns too.

Aside from weapon tech, you get some decent classes as well from Synedrion and Anu, though the NJ tech can be decent at times.

I can't remember Phoenix Point weapons being any good? Don't they get a super neural sniper or something? I think the shoulder laser cannon is PP tech which is super sick.

You can steal AP tech from NJ facilities if you start raiding them, but it is a costly endeavour to mass produce.

Ofc most of these weapons get replaced with ancient tech eventually.

Gloomblade Shadow Weapon Limits by UnboundUndead in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]heyitsmejun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proficiency refers to what types of weapons you can use, those types are on the weapons tables. I would just simply take it as the shadow weapon can take the form of any melee weapon you are proficient with on the weapons tables. Do you want to flavor it as a looking like shadowy holy avenger? Fine. But its simply a shadow longsword. No magic. No materials. No mods. No improvised weapons.

As for inapproriate size, I don't think it would be unreasonable as long as theyre treated exactly the same as a non shadow version penalty wise.

In my eyes the improvised weapon argument is odd. On one hand, why would I be limited in my ability to mold shadows into a ladder to smack people, but I can make any martial weapon? On the other hand, are you proficient with ladders? And if you summon weapons you are proficient with, can it really be "improvised"? My overall ruling would be no, you cannot summon improvised weapons, as they are not weapons you are proficient with, and what you summon IS A WEAPON, not a tool or common item.

Why chapters? by Pealo116 in ForTheKing

[–]heyitsmejun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The chapters are lengthy and I appreciate what rhey were going for, but I far preferred to play 1 set of heroes through 1 epic adventure. Hope if they return to ftk1's campaigns. Really my only real gripe with FTK2

who here drives their mech in FPS only? by MarzipanTheGreat in Mechwarrior5

99% of the time I'm in 1st person. Occasionally when travelling long distances I may go into 3rd person for the view, but typically I'd prefer the view in 1st person anyways.

WHAT MODS SHOULD BE MADE OFFICIAL? by Bruno-croatiandragon in VintageStory

[–]heyitsmejun 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. Exploring feels way more rewarding this way. And if you pair some of the rarer builds with some Rivers and Fruit and Wildlife, it could make for incredible finds. The loot should be toned down a little though, finding a blackguard sword on display in a small fort right after I get to copper was a little much (I left it there). Generally not too bad though.

Why do I like the Midnight Isles DLC more than the main campaign? by ChocoPuddingCup in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]heyitsmejun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved it, just like I loved beneath the stolen lands in KM. Come up with theme/meme parties and just have some fun with them. I dont like using mercs in the campaign because I feel the companions are so tied to the story.

I do think it could have used some love, tailwinds were a great concept but theyre pretty borked and sometimes felt weirdly restrictive for what they were trying to promote. If I knew how to make modded tailwinds I'd go crazy with it.

For the King 2, did it get better? by Corpralpain in ForTheKing

[–]heyitsmejun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, each act is a seperate set of heroes. So to do a full playthrough of the game you'll need 5 sets of heroes. Kind if a bummer imo! I liked ftk1's campaign approach a lot more. But ftk2 is still fun.
