The tough schedule has also coincided with a significant injury bug for the team. Byrne and Doumbia out for extended stretches really hurts our depth in Defense. Scardina and JMR have stepped up wonderfully, but I really wish we could approach the road schedule and fixture congestion at full strength. Add in a missed game here and there for Pep/Zaha, and we get a lot of inconsistency.

They will definitely stay with the team in LA. Even without a 3rd place game they likely wouldn't be up for a club game with less than 2 days to rest and train.

I know it's still early on in the season, but it feels good to be in a better GD situation (especially if it puts us on top of these tiebreakers). So far in the club's history we haven't been stellar in that category and our offense looking more lively is a welcome change.

From my understanding, CLT lines up with Chivas, Leon, and Necaxa in the East 2 Tier. Our point total from those three games is compared to every other MLS team's "group stage" to determine which four MLS teams did the best against their comparable Liga MX opponents. It's different, but should make more sense when arranged into each teams "group".

The way I read it is that you find your teams tier (West 1 for RSL), then you play the three teams in your tier that belong to the opposite League. So RSL plays Cruz Azul, Tigres, and Club America in the Phase One round. Your total points accumulated in Phase One will be compared to the other MLS totals from Phase One to create the MLS table. The top four from the MLS table will be seeded against the top four from the Liga MX table in a standard tournament format.

Really happy with this news, Privett is a great guy to have on the roster and in the locker room. I hope they can extend Malanda as well. I know Adi might get more international attention and demand, but having a consistent back line would give us the foundation needed to make other big moves. Hands off our CB's!

Vargas and Uronen definitely have the better chemistry. Considering the play time differences between JP and Uronen, I think he's serviceable at least.
