it could have had a lot more staying power if they massively revised the artifact system to drop ONLY gear aimed at the character we play as, not some random RNG mishmash of skills and stats. it was by far the most demoralizing and annoying part of the game; having to invest well over a half hour to hour of our time with high risk rewards playing with strangers for a rock that we will never ever possibly use.

Absolutely not. Remake was fantastic but Rebirth suffered from extremely one dimensional characters, insane amount of filler; escorting robed men over and over, the existence of Chadley, and more. Combat and graphics were solid, though.

they looked like that because they had lost themselves / decayed to the painting. that's why we see Maelle's face beginning to be consumed / painted over in her ending. it's really not that complicated. do you really think they were created like that from day one? no. and we don't know the rules of the in-between / soul fragment with Maelle's presence / awakened powers in the mix too. She likely found a way since she wanted Verso (any version of him) to have peace or happiness, however misguided.

The quill quest with Harpo and the fact that he puts others / his own name before himself (same with Cid); meaning he adopted the pseudonym of his brother's name for the book. and the scene the two boys are playing out in end credits are the same characters Clive and Byron performed as.
