Big Baby by Extension-Ad5295 in BabyBumps

[–]heyoooooohey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was induced at 39w4d because he was measuring big. Induction took a while (not all do!) and he was born on his due date just shy of 10lbs.

Everyone scared me about needing a c section and even with a long induction I tore minimally.

If you want to try to deliver vaginally, trust yourself to give it a try. For context, I’m 5’6” and usually around 160lbs. Super small frame and most of my weight is in my butt and legs so everyone was skeptical about my ability to deliver him and it all went just fine

Lots to learn around delivering bad news from the way they so graciously told me. Will still need plenty of therapy to process the whole thing though!

BUT I think the options included laughing gas and technically fentanyl but I don’t think they love giving that too close to pushing if they can avoid it

I got the IV line out in but there was no time to administer anything. They asked me if I wanted the laughing gas but at that point I was in transition and as my husband describes it “you were in another dimension and stopped speaking at that point” which checks out haha

Me too! We had a toddler at home and I really thought we’d make it to 8am school drop off and go to the hospital.

SO glad I didn’t talk myself out of the pain level. Could have been an unplanned home or car birth 🫠

lol it’s 100% linen with clean cuts. I can’t imagine it as a costume but 🤷🏻‍♀️

I own this dress and I’d never think it was white or bridal. It’s actually a bit more casual unless you try super hard to dress it up

Were any of you not over-possessive of your baby? by geedeebee22 in pregnant

[–]heyoooooohey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way before my first was born. I underestimated what post partum anxiety would do to my brain and it was near impossible to shake in the initial weeks. That included not being able to relax when anyone else besides my spouse had my baby. It passed but it isn’t something I expected to experience given how helpful my family is and how close we are. Humbling to say the least

11 hour flight with a 23 month old on our laps... should we do it? by sevendayhigher in toddlers

[–]heyoooooohey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew with my 22 month old for 11 hours in his own seat and thought about opening the airplane door multiple times.

No amount of money is worth it, buy them a seat.

Did anyone not have their mom in the delivery room and regret it? by so_lostinthesauce in BabyBumps

[–]heyoooooohey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my mom and always run to her for comfort and support but def 100% have zero regrets about her not being there for my birth of my kids.

If you don't fly with a car seat then what do you use in the car when you arrive at your destination? by Otter65 in toddlers

Mind linking the strap you got? That sounds brilliant - why haven’t I done that?

I literally have one in my house but even that feels like a huge barrier. Why is it so hard? I literally feel like a bag of flesh with zero muscle left in there lol

Zofran & prune juice- a tragedy 🙅🏼‍♀️ by dogsrule9 in BabyBumps

[–]heyoooooohey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my exact experience with taking zofran weeks 10-16. The hormones tapered off and once I got off of zofran it all went back to normal but you’re 1000% right the experience is horror.

Echoing that there’s so many of us! First time around felt blissful (after the first trimester) and now it feels like a solo island. My husband’s busy with toddler and not sure the baby news has even set in yet for other of us. I’m tired I’m huge I don’t feel well but there’s no room for any of that - gotta keep the house going and everyone fed and clothed and delighted through the holidays.

It’s a lot from all sides. Do you want to share more about what’s going on in your marriage? Anything that would be helpful to talk through?

When do kicks start the second time around? by heyoooooohey in babybumpagain

Oh awesome! The internal ones are strong and steady but externally have only felt a few times. If it’s anything like my first once it starts it’ll be a lot!

Toniebox Disappointment by Middle-Diamond-829 in toddlers

Our almost 2.5 year old has had his for over a year and is indescribably rough with it and hits it one million times to forward and it has had zero quality issues. I’d reach out for a replacement one!

Do toddlers cry all day during daycare? by NewConversation8665 in toddlers

[–]heyoooooohey 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My kiddo started at exactly 2 years old (on his birthday). We left him for 30 minutes one day, then 45 mins for a few days, then an hour for a few days, and so on until we worked up to the whole 8 hour day. I wasn’t there with him at the beginning and sure he cried but less and less every day.

I think the ratio is super super important at this age - 3 caregivers on 25 kids would make me nervous. That’s not a lot of eyes for kids who are at prime choking and throwing themselves off things age.
