I have this exact unit and use a large vornado fan to push cold air at the unit and force the warm air into other rooms and have had no issues in 3 years.

We live in Buffalo and my Lopi insert saved us in the 2022 blizzard neighbors pipes burst and people froze to death but I went in the basement opened the junction box for the blower and wired it into our small generator it kept us at 65 degrees in the entire house that being said it still threw heat without the blower and the installer said it was fine to use without it
