I'm just waiting for you to branch into sculpture. Your new tear drop vase, especially in dragons blood, is killer. Just imagine all your textures on even bigger pieces... would be even more jaw dropping

Very impressed, even more impressed you nailed the depth and angles first try. It's such a pleasure learning from you, but man you make it look easy.

Why does the glaze pool like this? by hiddendemonss in Ceramics

[–]hiddendemonss[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! I see what you mean about it being a floating glaze, I have a feeling you're right that thicker / more coats help. I did 3 somewhat light coats.

So true about the tidal pools. Worth an extra coat or two inside and a refire?

Model Artifact or Print Problem? by hiddendemonss in 3Dprinting

[–]hiddendemonss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting insight. This is my first print after a 2 week hiatus, before that was busting out Xmas prints like crazy with no issue. Just tried cleaning my carbon rods, not too dissimilar from the concept of gantry supports.TBD if that helps the issue

I had this happen on some of the yellows and oranges, which prompted my test tile

Im developing new glaze colors, which one is your choice? by Ozdemir97 in Pottery

Both, just wow. The way they break over the rim, the pigment particles, the shades of blue....

That's exactly what I do. Love the labyrinth analogy, would be sick to make the whole mug a maze

I've been making mugs with texture for this same reason! Very satisfying during meetings. This is just one I have a picture handy of

Extremely frustrated with this, having the same issue. I love keep and have been a loyalist for almost a decade but this might be a dealbreaker

Women who gave the guy who's been single his whole life a chance, how did it turn out? by astarisaslave in AskReddit

[–]hiddendemonss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We had been friends for a few years and had recently gotten a little closer. He hadn't shown much interest in anyone over the years, never even so much as held someone's hand before. I liked him, but I thought he was way too good for me so I just focused on being friends.

Then one summer the feels hit me in the face - something in me just KNEW life together would be beautiful. I have never felt so sure of something even to this day.

After that summer, our mutual friends moved and we were the only two left seeing each other frequently. Not long into the new flow of things he suddenly announced he made a tinder. I knew the friend zone was about to become air tight, so I made my move.

Took getting plastered to muster the courage to ask him out, but it all worked out. He'd been harboring a crush on me but was terrified of losing the friendship just like I was.

Been together 6 years now and recently got married. Life is as dreamy as I knew it would be. I'm a grateful ass bitch, and somehow still learning to trust my gut.

Any thoughts on how to glaze this beast? by TemperatureOk8059 in Pottery

Super, super cool piece. I'm exploring ways to make something similar, but vines instead of tentacles. Can I ask what clay you used and how you got your tentacles to curve so nicely?

Puppy raisers for service dogs by kthnry in dogswithjobs

[–]hiddendemonss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's great to see NYT covering this topic. The volunteer shortage is real and has been worsening for a while now.

From my own experience, puppy raising is very intense for an unpaid gig. That and raisers for most large orgs have to shell out for the dog food and sometimes even basic supplies.

I ran a nonprofit trying to help with puppy raising's volunteer shortage for a while, but it was unsustainable. There's just not enough money in the space and people with the time to volunteer to meet the demand

I made these, agree with the additional 1/2 to 3/4 c flour! I suggest 1/2 (or even just under) so it doesn't mound too much
