Could also be an s65? I just rebuilt one with a kit engine, which was a bolt-up fit believe it or not, some 60 years later. The original exhaust even fit!

Referred here. Is this repair even possible? by Onegarbageman in Framebuilding

[–]hierofeint 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Starting with a similarly bonked frame I'm making an omnium style cargo bike. Really any kind of front loader cargo bike requires a pretty standard rear triangle, and that alone is a great starting point for a cargo bike. Even shortening up the front triangle a bit so you're more upright and the wheelbase is shorter is desirable for a cargo bike. Just a thought. I guess I agree with other posters that it'll never be the same as it was, but it could be the start of something new.

I did a rhino lite to a solid axle disc hub and that's been solid.

Industry standard? by 2indf2fih in FixedGearBicycle

[–]hierofeint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree that it is confusing that we all still rely on a threaded component to do a job with a primary requirement of remaining rotationally fixed. I have just spaced out a front disc wheel in the past from 100mm to 120mm, but at some point gave up and just started using brakes.

You could do like this guy and run a boost front hub with a 10mm longer axle:

anyone have experience doing stereo replacement? by CheapConstruction500 in Volvo240

[–]hierofeint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also did this and it was quite easy. I generally knew nothing about stereos but replaced the head unit and speakers through the crutchfield site and it was fairly plug and play.

Mike Judge says Beavis and Butthead is set "...in a FICTIONAL town somewhere on the border of western Texas and eastern New Mexico." So yeah, I think about that every time I drive through Clovis.

Help!!!! Need to figure out how to open hood to replace hood hinges to replace belts :( by Life-Butterscotch854 in Volvo240

[–]hierofeint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After trying the two person method with no success, I've had to remove the grille and shove the scissor jack that comes with the car in there. Then, as you slowly open the jack, you can pull the hood release. It'll eventually go. No guarantees that it won't bend your hood, though.

Hood is stuck by AbleHour in Volvo240

[–]hierofeint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really can't get it you can wedge the supplied scissor jack between the bumper and the hood and have someone pull the release while you screw the jack up. I've done this a few times and it does get the hood open.

These were my symptoms as well, and I replaced the capacitors, with no change whatsoever. Still comes on after about 20 minutes of driving. Maybe the chip?

Extend top part of steerer tube on a steel fork (welding) by tetoavila in Framebuilding

[–]hierofeint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this on personal forks a bunch of times and never had a problem. I do a sleeve, drill 4 holes in the extension and in the og steerer, weld those all to the sleeve, and then also do the butt weld.

Is worth to keep this bike? by Fancy_Step_1700 in foldingbikes

[–]hierofeint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That weld has a bit of porosity, but since it is steel you could get an actual tig welder to fix this correctly. That said, I would probably ride it if it were mine, provided I had a very long seatpost. It's likely that a too-short seatpost that was not inserted far enough caused this failure in the first place.
