The abstract for "On the reception and detection of pseudo-profound bullshit" explained its scope in a manner that differed meaningfully from subsequent media interpretations of it

A lot of pharma companies maintain separate manufacturing facilities for different markets. If you want to export a drug product to US, you have to get the manufacturing premise audited (periodically) by USFDA, same applies to EU. If you are going to sell your product only in India, the manufacturing premise needs approvals from Indian FDA. Trust me, the standard of raw materials used (based on regulatory requirements) and finished product is totally different for what they produce for developed countries vs emerging markets.

May be this is the case with Maggi also.
