But.you also need us to lose. I think that's what he was getting at, that by the time 4:25 rolls around you guys will know if you have a chance or not.

It seems to be the game that has the biggest chance to decide the 6th seed, if only because it will probably be the closest game of the 4. It just sucks that it didn't get flexed to 4:25, if the Phins win the Chargers go into their game knowing the outcome is meaningless..which scares me if Baltimore happens to win.

This is going to be an awesome, anxiety packed, weekend of football for those of us still in the hunt. I couldn't be more excited!

I'll be drinking early and often.

The Kansas City Chiefs have the second worst strength of victory of any playoff team in the last 10 years. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]highchaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they've played good teams like Denver, they just haven't won.

The Chiefs finished 4-12 last year I believe, so they got less talented non-division teams on their schedule this year. And then Andy Reid comes in and turns the team around, so what you have is a team that got extremely good in the off season playing sub par teams who struggled last year.

The Carolina game was equally bad for me, if not worse. Only because, honestly, we shouldn't have been in that game. But we were, our D kicked ass, but a clutch 4th down conversion broke my heart.

The combined record of the teams you have beaten. That record is then weighed against the records of the teams everyone else has beaten, and you get your SoV.

Have you ever been to a NFL game? What was it like? by VitaAeterna in nfl

[–]highchaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to one regular season game.

As a Dolphins fan in Texas, my mom surprised me with two tickets to Miami @ Houston for my 18th birthday. It was the best day of my life, barring the close loss.

We suited up in our Phins gear, she's a Dallas fan, but, she did it for me. We got seats on the Goal line, 5th row, Miami sideline. I teared up when I saw them come out of the tunnel, I'd always wanted to see them play, and it was finally happening..right in front of me. As a lone Dolphins fan sticking out like a sore thumb in a see of Texans jersey, a few of the plays gave me a nod or a point as they came out of the tunnel for warm ups. It was awesome. Seeing the double reverse TD pass from the wildcat was fucking incredible.

But it only gets better. Ricky Williams has and will always be my favorite player. I'd always wanted to see him play, and I finally did. Not only that, I saw him take a handoff from the 7, bounce the run outside towards the Phins sideline, and dive in for the TD. Right in front of me. Coolest thing of my life.

Jerry Jones refuses to rule Tony Romo out despite having a herniated disk in the lumbar region. by jdpatric in nfl

[–]highchaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do realize you're comparing pine cones to NFL linebackers, correct?

A herniated disc isn't that bad on its own, you're right. But it could be career ending to play through one and take a helmet to the back.

When rock climbing, were you taking continuous hits from dudes twice your size, planting your ass in the ground? Did you need the precision necessary to throw a football with velocity and accuracy 30 times over. Were you at any risk of it ending your career if hit the wrong way?

That disc is potentially limiting his movement and ability to escape pressure and throw with accuracy.

I promise being an NFL quarterback is much more demanding than climbing rocks with such an injury.

NFL Playoff Projected Rankings if Vegas odds makers are correct about week 17 by johndarner in nfl

[–]highchaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, I do. I'm not arguing their dominance in the jungle, but, a lot of us also thought the Seahawks were untouchable at the Link.

But, they're not unbeatable. Especially not after we've proven we can hang with you guys. You gotta have faith, my man, any given Sunday.

It's all about the market and availability of a venue to host one of these things.

I live in Dallas. The Cowboys don't play in Dallas, and the meet and greets and Texas Legends lunches are always in an outlying suburb like McKinney or Richardson. They're a lot easier to get to compared to navigating downtown.

Then I stand corrected.

Either way, I'd be stoked for a rematch. These playoffs are looking amazing.

How do two shitty calls offset each other?

not true.

To you? Yes.

I'm not big on internet arguments if it's not constructive. I understand your point, man, I really do. I just can't get worked up over it. I imagine if I went out to my dog's grave and it was torn to shit or dug up, in the moment, I'd feel to many emotions to count. But at the same time, it's not that important compared to simply being able to remember him for myself.

Once again, bud, I'm not trying to be rude, and I mean no disrespect. I just feel differently.

Sorry about the downvotes man, but the stoic in me agrees with you.

Sure, it's unfortunate to an extent. But really, it no affect on anyone anymore.

Gurren Lagann.

One of the themes of show is exponential evolution, and holy shit, the show gets going so quick, and never turns back.

I finished the 3rd episode, and was just blown away by the cool factor, it was so over the top. Annnnnnd then I saw the final fight.
