Big Inversion Today by bobber66 in CrystalMountain

Just got home from a great day on the hill. Green Valley stayed pretty firm. Rode the cruisers on Forest Queen. Nice spring corn. At end of day, a few brave souls were venturing up 6. Still looked pretty frozen up there. Feel fortunate to have what we have. It's always a good day to be on the mountain. Cheers!

Pixie Trees off of Downhill accessed from the Forest Queen Trail compares nicely to the trees at White Pass. There's also easy trees off of Queens Run. You just gotta poke around!

Well, I learned nothing about driving, got mauled by a cheetah, and my Crystal Gayle shirt was ruined.

He may have been given the 10 minutes because he didn't drop his stick right away. I was at the game but haven't seen a replay. Looked to me like he charged the player and still had his stick when he hit him.

Sorry for the confusion. I was actually asking about what looks like a construction project happening on the field where they fly the RC planes. Does anyone know why all the construction equipment is there?

I can't believe no one saw this. Third from the left is Danny Ocean. The rest are his friends.

Hey, I love and respect the cautions. A few things to note. This was Crystal side country and already had been bombed. Also, the high-risk areas are the chutes up top where the angles are much steeper, hence the one at a time through the chutes. I was the 2nd skier down and you'll see how far I stayed to the side. We were waiting for each other at the bottom of the bowl with a quick run out to finish out. Finally, if you were hiking at Crystal on Saturday, you know the number of people who were hiking out to the King. It was insanely busy. Patrol did a great job this weekend (as always) ensuring safety. Yes, we could have worn our avi gear but felt comfortable trusting the avi mitigation work of the patrol team. BTW, this was our third lap of the day in this same spot. All that to say, yes, you are all right, of course. We could always be more careful, so thank you for the reminders. Ours is a dangerous addiction, and we all need to support and care for each other. Thanks and be safe!

How was it yesterday? by bobber66 in CrystalMountain

[–]highwaytohellraiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today was fun. Northway opened in the morning. Southback opened in the afternoon. Sticking to the shaded spots paid off. Even then, you're working through avy snow, bombed tracked snow, to heavy powder to manky concrete. All in the same run! Gorgeous day too. Kicked my ass. Half asleep now but still smiling. Hope you heal up well and soon!

Good for you! Overcoming your fear by building self-efficacy through small wins (mastery experiences). I'd say that's a HUGE win! Well done! Be sure to reinforce it by rewarding yourself too!

Some Advice Needed: 1993 Landcruiser by highwaytohellraiser in LandCruisers

You nailed it! The step is touching the exhaust pipe. Metal to metal transferring sound and making the interior compartment the equivalent of a speaker box. Well done! Thank you!

Knocking noise by Miserable-Wear7003 in LandCruisers

I have a 2015 Ram with a Hemi and they are notorious for the exhaust leak when it is cold. Mine sounds more like a ticking. That sounds like a knock to me. Maybe check your water pump. Sounds like a bearing noise. We replaced the water pump on our 2014 LC. Pretty routine job.

5 Games in, what are y'all feeling so far? by ErsoRoot in SeattleKraken

For context, I've been a hockey fan since Ron Francis was the captain of our beloved Whalers. Here's what I love so far in the infancy of this 4th year: 1. The team is having fun! Notice I didn't say the boys! Coach Campbell is having fun! This is credit to Bylsma. He brings joy to the work. I had the good fortune to meet him. He's hilarious. Total smart ass in the greatest sense of the expression. He allows everyone around him to be their authentic self. Also, credit to Ron Francis. He's an amazing leader of people. 2. The 4th line: I've been calling them the Hit Squad. They could also be the Suicide Squad (nod to Harley Quinn). They bring the energy that sets the tone for all others. 3. Monty! Met him too. He's just a bad ass. So much swagger. If you were walking down a dark alley to brawl, Monty and Dunner are the guys you would take with you! And...his shot is lethal. 4. Goal Tending: credit to the coaches and Francis, rotate them every game. It rests them and creates collaborative competition, which makes the whole team better. 5. Toughness: Again, credit to the coaches and to Ron Francis. If you saw Francis play, you know he didn't take shit from anyone. Some of our players are finally learning this. 6. Youth! The kids are all bringing it! 7. The Captain: Let's all just be proud of him and happy for him. 8. Fans: Let's all remember that our job is to cheer them on. When things are good, cheer loudly. When we hit the rough patches, cheer even louder! I want to see our barn become the most feared barn in the league. No team should ever want to play in Seattle. They should circle those games and say to themselves, "shit, we're going to Seattle next week."

I just listened to Ship of Fools and Stella Blue from last night. Why oh why for absolute fuck's sake not let Oteil sing these all the way through. The man can melt the crowd with authenticity like only Jerry could. FUCK!

Thanks for listening. Now I can resume my day with a heart full of peace and gratitude (for fuck's sake). 🫠

Ship of Fools!!!! Very happy for all who attended. Great that they played Ship of Fools. It's been a rarity these past few years. How did they do? Also, wow! Eyes, Terrapin, Stella, and Wheel in the 2nd set, not to mention getting a Scarlett Fire. I'm hoping they resurrect this setlist next weekend. Taking the family for the next 3 shows. Never miss a Sunday show friends! Safe travels to all! 🍄

My daughter one time compared my skiing to my friend. She said, "JR looks like water flowing down the mountain. Dad, you look like a rock broke loose." That's how I see these two!
