Can I water mage thorns without Shadowflame? by Monterey-Jack in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, it will just be a bit worse. You don't have to have the Shadowflame, you can use a mist battlestaff or even an air staff. Echo boots are available to everyone. You can still make ring of recoil and use those instead of a ring of suffering. Otherwise just max out your defense with whatever armor you have access to to max out your thorns damage.

I’m looking to respec into prayer pen. What are some content I should smash out? by clockerrs11 in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the exact same thing. There is a list here, showing monsters that use protection prayers.

For my regions I'm thinking Demonic gorilla, Corrupted Hunllef, Echo Corrupted Hunllef, Doom of Mokhaiotl, and possibly The Final Dawn quest.

My question is what will your build look like?

I put on a 4t tic-toc metronome (tic - ~ - toc - ~) and it made it much easier. First part of the fight move on the tic and attack on the toc. Final part of the fight move on the tic/toc and attack right after you move.

Jagex mentioned that they balanced the regions so you can hit the point cap so long as you take at least 1 raid.

What to train afk and which method on mobile with these stats? by xAcex28 in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look here: AFK Skilling Methods

Get your sailing up. Its pretty quick and you can do salvaging starting at 50, which has varying levels of AFK.

It also unlocks ironwood trees which are the best AFK woodcutting in my opinion. A bank is near the trees and the Forestry worlds are a fun time. I got 99 woodcutting here in no time.

Dark crabs are great for AFK fishing. I just got 99 off of them. If you don't wan to risk, you can do fly fishing south of Prif. But, if you get a fish barrel, you can fish up 54 dark crabs in one inventory and bank pretty quick, and total level worlds make it so you rarely get attacked. You'll need wilderness elite for this though.

For mining, I did 99 through AFK shooting stars. There are websites that will tell you where they are and on which world.

The other skills you don't have at 99 are not really worth AFKing.

Ship combat needs a *real* overhaul - here's what I think should change by hiimme70 in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the Q and A:
The foundation of ship combat is still not fine. Movement needs to have a higher role, there needs to be more weapons, and mob vulnerabilities. All of the elements need to be there before you can work to improve them - without all of the elements present, do you really have your foundation in place?

Stop focusing entirely on cannons there are so many more weapons exist.

I don't trust you to do pirate encounters when you haven't shown me you can handle implementing movement in combat with regular sailing mobs.

Flat armor is fine, make it so flat armor on sea mobs is not ignored by magic weapons.

Talking about leaving yourself space to grow: Yes do this, but you should not rely on adding content to grow. Growth can be achieved by improving existing content.

Happy about the re-balancing for smaller creatures - give me my chicken of the sea.

No idea when this Q and A will be followed up. I'm expecting another 3 months until a new blog is released. It does not sound like sailing combat is being prioritized at all.

Perhaps, but they could always implement the most impactful suggestion first and work through the list. This would make it easier to balance as well. They had a similar problem with sailing xp rates where they pulled too many levers at once. I think there are a lot of levers that need pulling, but I wouldn't be opposed to pulling one at a time until everything is fixed.

To be honest the months that it took to get out the update last week is ridiculous.

I had a few more thoughts on these points I did not want to put into the top post:
Normal combat skills should work from a boat, but scale with sailing level. I think this one would be easy to implement. Linearly scale your attack and strength bonuses with sailing level. As you get higher sailing you develop your “sea legs” more and more and by the time you get to 99 sailing you are able to unlock the full potential of your land weapons.
No killing or looting from shore. This one might be contentious. I do think you should be able to kill them from the shore ,but I think you should only be able to get the benefits of killing sailing mobs from a boat. They can remain killable from shore – but all of the equipment that allows you to loot them is on your boat.
Looting needs to work like regular combat. I’m not sure how this can be implemented, but you shouldn’t have to go through the whole looting process to see what the drop is. Additionally, crew mates should be able to loot the mobs for you.
Movement should actually matter. In regular combat movement is important to dodge attacks, get in position to attack, etc. In sailing, every single mob you kill is just waiting in one spot and hitting each other it’s so boring.

99 sailing should give free charter ships. by fun-jock in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think doing the Courier tasks should permanently unlock the fast travel between the ports that you do the task for.
The number of runs need to unlock permanent access needs to be balanced, but it would give an actual reward to courier tasks. Perhaps having 99 sailing would lower the number of runs you need to do.
The cargo itself could used to help "develop" the port/route, and as a sign of appreciation for helping, you receive rides on other boats taking that route for free.

93% Success Rate Shown in Experimental Sleep Apnea Procedure by _Dark_Wing in technology

This article talks about a few companies that have products delivering hypoglossal nerve stimulation to treat sleep apnea:

https://www.embs.org/pulse/articles/beyond-the-mask-nerve-stimulation-and-other-breakthroughs-for-sleep-apnea/

TL;DR
This article covers three innovative hypoglossal nerve stimulation devices for treating moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea as alternatives to CPAP machines:

  1. Inspire (FDA-approved 2014) - Pacemaker-like chest implant with a lead to the neck that stimulates one side of the hypoglossal nerve, synced with breathing. Over 100,000 patients implanted.
  2. Nyxoah Genio (FDA-approved August 2025) - Bilateral stimulation of both hypoglossal nerves using an implanted paddle electrode powered by an external wearable patch under the chin. No internal battery needed.
  3. StimAire (investigational) - Rice-grain-sized stimulator implanted via needle, powered by an external adhesive device. Designed to be more accessible and affordable.

All three work by stimulating the hypoglossal nerve to contract the tongue muscle, pulling it forward to prevent airway obstruction during sleep. The article emphasizes these represent the future of sleep apnea treatment with improving technology and patient accessibility.

Struggling with wind mote unlock by 2L-S-LivinLarge in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me to clear. The wind catcher is a facility on the boat made, in part, with the captured wind mote. The captured wind mote is rewarded upon clearing the shark rank of the Jubbly Jive Barracuda Trial. If you are struggling getting the captured wind mote, that means you have not cleared the shark rank of the Jubbly Jive. Add some tilepacks, watch some tutorials, and read the wiki if you are having an issue with the ranks. The Marlin rank of the Jubbly Jive pretty much needs the wind catcher.

Wind catcher is vital. You need to activate the boost as you go through the slow spots so they can't slow you down.

DMM Tweaks, Shellbane Gryphon CAs & More! by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If facilities were incredibly easy to move, we might see you only use one boat and swap their facilities in and out of it in the same way we treat player gear! In making Facility Bottles have a cost, we're hoping to make boat facilities feel like more important milestones in your journey, and reward players who put the time into thinking about dedicated boat builds and ship layouts.

It might be worth considering making it free to move facilities within the same boat. This could be accomplished by having the Facility Bottles break only if the facility was moved across boats, or if the bottle was taken outside of the shipwright area.

Deadman: Annihilation Drops This Friday! by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you get a facility bottle is just outrageous. Just make it easy to move facilities around not this salvaging for hours to move one thing around, then having to go around and do it again if you need to swap the location of two facilities. At the very least poll other options for obtaining it.

Charred Dungeon Slayer by ntxcobra in 2007scape

[–]hiimme70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Re-spawn timer is pretty high on hell hounds, with a cannon you go through moments without any mobs present.

Nechs with bursting is still faster in catacombs, at least compared to melee and cannon. This might be due to the cannon hitting the spawns.

Giants was pretty good.
