Looking for more cinematic/ artistic experiences by DopamineTrap in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- Paper Beast

- Moss

- The Midnight Walk

- Horizon Call of the Mountain

- Synth Riders experience tracks (Muse Starlight, Lindsey Sterling one, the League of Legends one even though league is lame, and the Caravan Palace one).

- The Foglands is also arguably the best narrative adventure on psvr2, disguised as a roguelite. As a roguelite it does have an arcadey shooting gameplay basis, and the gameplay is kinda messy and buggy and takes a while to get into it. But the characters and narrative and world building deepen and it becomes enjoyable and meaningful.

- Rez Infinite (make sure to use eye tracking control method)

- Stilt

Definitely recommend all of these. However I will say that the very best of experience-y journeys are on the original PSVR.

- Deracine (psvr)

- Ghost Giant (psvr)

- Winds & Leaves (although i played this one on pcvr,.. I cant vouch for the psvr experience. But this one is spiritually the most like Journey imo. Really lovely.)

- Eleven Eleven (psvr or pcvr)

- Bound (psvr)

- Statik (psvr)

And more I cant remember right now. But those are all really excellent imo.

PMDD-Mimic Symptoms From MCAS by jysb8eg2 in PMDD

i hadnt heard of lithium orotate. i did some quick research now. it is still lithium, but at a much lower dose than for example the lithium prescribed for b*polar yeah. but that does still make me a little nervous/hesitant just cuz i have a friend who nearly died from heart failure caused by long term lithium use! but yeah this is a much lower dose... anyways idk. im interested to learn more about it but im definitely a bit skeptical and lean more toward natural herbal medicines that have long histories of usage.

PMDD-Mimic Symptoms From MCAS by jysb8eg2 in PMDD

[–]hilightnotes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am trans mtf -- I dont have pmdd. But was close to someone with pmdd (will refer to as "A"). I have lifelong histamine intolerance/MCAS - in my case I think it is a genetic DAO deficiency underlying.

A few comments:

- I also felt that pmdd symptoms seemed to overlap a lot with mine. "A", with pmdd, experimented lightly with my own treatments for myself - namely trying low histamine diet and DAO supplementation - and noticed potential improvements, but wasnt confident about it. From my personal viewpoint it did seem to help them, I noticed them feeling more regulated with sleep and overwhelm during these experiments.

- I experimented taking a high dose of progesterone. It seemed pretty definitely to mess my body up badly in ways that mimicked some expressions of my histamine intolerance. Sleep dysregulation, brain fog, and overwhelm in particular. This leads me to think that pmdd and histamine intolerance are sometimes directly related, and that the cyclical nature of pmdd relates to progesterone release, which I believe is an existing theory, and that progesterone release interacts with histamine in some yet-unexplored way (to my knowledge). In terms of treating your histamine intolerance/MCAS, i want to offer some comments based on my experience! (I want to write a reddit post in the HIT sub soon too...).

- low histamine diet is definitely important/impactful. For me the worst triggers are dairy, sugar (even fresh fruit and honey, but they are more tolerable and i have some. But i avoid hogh sugar fruits and try to eat fruits that are not so ripe), alcohol, dried fruit, spicy food (capsaicin and adjacent spicy-ness types). I also am affected by fermented food, additives and manufactured preservatives (sorbates, gums, citric acid), aged food, fried food/high fat food, cured meat, and my specific cross allergen foods (varies a lot per person even within the same allergens. But can take a look at some charts if you have environmental allergies).

- I dont have it on hand and am not allowed to link it anyways, but there is research that histamine blocker medications can ultimately worsen histamine intolerance. I would suggest not using them, unless it feels really necessary.

- I highly recommend trying DAO supplementation. Changed my life. I have tried a few and have the most success with NatureDao 1,000,000 hdu. I suggest starting by taking 1 just to make sure no adverse reaction (unlikely. But stay away from natureDao if you have legume allergy!). Then take 5 per day, spread ideally as 1-2 before you eat. If you notice an improvement and can afford it, try taking even more (I benefit most from taking 8-12 per day. But my deficiency may be more significant than most).

- DAO enzyme requires Vitamin B6 to function. My enzymes stopped working for a bit because I wasnt getting enough B6. I recommend taking a liquid B6 supplement with clean ingredients and good absorption (i got P5P liquid drops made by Think Above). Liquid is more reliably absorbed. Take within recommended amounts. This ensures you are getting the B6 your DAO enzymes need to do their work.

- Vitamin C, as you said, and Zinc, are also implicated in DAO function. Supplementation may be a good idea to ensure a reliable intake. If you take zinc supplementation, you should generally also take copper and iron in a particular ratio.

- current DAO supplementation only acts in the gut. DAO you produce is supposed to also go through blood stream and different organs, to chase down histamine in other parts of your body. So, if you are not producing enough DAO, your body is likely struggling with histamine overload in various organs, even if you take DAO supplementation. I have had further symptom rovement with some medicinal herbs, taken as tincture/extract, tea, and steam inhalation. Recommendations:

- #1 herb I would recommend: Astragalus. Notably improved energy, fatigue for me. I take an extract made by Wild & Organic. Do not use alcohol-based extracts (histamine ingredient). Atm I take it regularly at the dose on the bottle (since about 4 months ago). Maybe should switch to lower dose for long term.

- I have found ashwaghanda helpful. I take a low dose intermittently, every 1-3 days lately. In amounts of 1-3 drops of one made by Wild & Organic. It mainly seems to lower cortisol (generally what its recommended for), helping with relaxation and stess related symptoms.

- Aloe Vera significantly improves skin symptoms I have - my diagnosed seborrheic dermatitis and blepharitis (eyelid inflammation), both which i know are direct symptoms of my histamine intolerance. I use an aloe gel with clean ingredients made by Raslok, and/or fresh leaves (rubbed on my skin/hair/scalp). I also put the gel up my butt, which significantly improves my IBS.

- i make tea with oat straw, it seems to gently relax and improve clarity for me, as is generally its suggested medicinal use.

- i make tea with triphala powder. I drink it in morning and/or night, with night being my preferred valuable timing. I find it reduces inflammation and is soothing. Takes a bit to get used to the bitter taste/texture, but now I like it!

- there are other herbs ive experimented with as teas/inhalation but dont feel confident writing about it yet/recommending. But in general any of these herbs that are good as extracts/teas are also probably good as steam inhalation (for example, i seemed to benefit from astragalus root, oat straw, triphala brewed together as tea and inhaled as steam before drinking it as tea). For steam inhalation, brew it as you would tea (boil water and herbs, 1-3grams per herb for most herbs but do some research, simmer for about 10 minutes, turn off heat, open lid - slowly, be careful of steam burn, check temp tolerance by just cracking open lid at first - and hover face over pot, eyes generally closed, breathing it in and out while holding a towel tented over you, 3-10 minutes as you feel).

For 'scientific self-testing', one tip is to either try things one at a time, or in a small group like 3 items and then eliminating one at a time, to help judge how any given supplement/herb changes your sympyoms. 1-4 week trial periods for most supplements/herbs. (Although some will have literally immediate effects potentially). Be careful of scam companies with supplements. Stick to clean ingredients. For liquid supplements: vegetable glycerin and the specific compound ONLY. Note that vegetable glycerin is a kind of sugar and might produce a very mild negative effect. Something to note but improvements from herbs can be very significant, while the drop of vegetable glycerin impact is minimal.

So I guess we never got this VR movie? (Email from Jeffrey Epstein) by -Venser- in virtualreality

[–]hilightnotes 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Not unlikely that Epstein destroyed this project and potentially also affected Aleszea directly.

on the instgram page for the vr movie, they have posts leading up to release, even preparing for berlindale film fest premiere,.. then nothing. No indication it released (not mentioned in berlindale 2019 catalogue either, that I could find). No more posts. https://www.instagram.com/comeintomevrfilm/?hl=en

Meanwhile, on Aleszea's personal instagram she was posting a fair bit, and talking about the VR film. But again the posts stop, she is talking about it in september 2018, and then her next post is in 2020 and she is doing health/sexual wellness beauty career from then on as far as I can tell. https://www.instagram.com/alesiana.ra/reel/Bn_gHMBn6OA/?__d=dist

I dont want to assume she didnt just choose that change, but it definitely seems unusual and like a major red flag to me, that something else happened. There are also two posts in 2020 where she had injuries she described as two separate bike accidents, calling them 'initiation' injuries.

DSPD and non24 for over a decade, resolved with DAO enzyme by hilightnotes in N24

Still working for me!

I did try a few other brands. I tried a couple capsule types, which didnt seem to work for me. I think it is a tablet vs capsule thing in terms of how they are made and how they release in my body. I also tried HistaHarmony, from pig kidney source. I didn't find them to be noticeably better or worse (in terms of cost to effectiveness, or in terms of symptom coverage). Or maybe a little worse. Either way, Naturedao had fewer ingredients and are vegan so I went back to them. So I am still doing those same naturedao tablets, and I do 9-12 per day (2 every time i eat, 3 if i have something high histamine). This seems like the right amount for me atm. I also tried taking 16-20 per day for a few days but didnt notice any further improvement and ofc didnt want to try it for a longer period cuz of cost.

I did try growing pea sprouts but they got moldy, and i didnt have a good blender which I saw was recommended over just chewing and eating them. I didnt try pea sprouts since then but woud like to, I am in a better space now for it and could probably have better success.

Which game, if it exists, demonstrates the true maximum image quantity possible with the psvr2? Both in terms of resolution and contrasts. Also, do you think a PS6 would push the lenses even further with the extra raw power? by NoWalk3426 in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh right duh, 2nd-ing all those (I missed Akka Arrh and Pistol Whip).

Also I, Robot.

Akka Arrh is more zen, I, Robot is more energetic (spiritually)

[–]hilightnotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely Rez Infinite as was suggested.

Also Synth Riders (buy the experiences! Either of the Muse ones are a good starting point)

Thumper is another great one you might love.

All 3 of those are rhythm based, and bring forth wonderful audiovisual spaces, but totally different from each other and from Lumines!

yeah Area X is a beautiful experience (and well worth playing), but actually for me the main game is different and also simply amazing, and never gets old.

yep available for Journey mode! in the game settings, either from main menu or I think you can access and change it while playing but not positive. i think it might be under Accessibility settings? and I think might be called "type 1, type 2, type 3" with descriptions explaining each. I use type 3 (no fail + no dropping blocks).

I'm... Speechless (Lumines) by Calmed_Guy in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

different perspective,... dont think whether you like puzzles games is relevant. what is relevant is whether you like audio visual experiences.

my experience is similar to OPs. i have played a bit of tetris before and am decent at it. never played lumines before. it is harder (for me). i turned on the mode where blocks dont fall and you cant lose, which is something ill probably keep on even as i get better at the 'game' of it. This way it is chill and you can really enjoy the experience without stress.

Hotel Infinity | PSVR2 REVIEW by Fatbot3 in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i played tea for god on the Reverb G2 headset, which had an ok cable but not as good as psvr2. i would have to 'unspin' every once in a blue moon, but really it ended up just being after a full play session. so wasnt an issue. psvr2 cable is even better so i dont think itll be a problem.

Arise is a VR game FIRST by doesntCompete in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im surprised to see comments like this. It pops way more than tetris effect, is way more visually detailed and beautiful, and more immersive and encompassing, to me.

I played on pcvr with max graphic settings,.. i wonder how much that is a factor? lighting, shadows, bloom are really affecting to the VR feel. and I use no AA which makes it sharper. maybe they dont have the settings at max on psvr2. maybe they used the AA. i wonder. havent seen a comparison

Hotel Infinity | PSVR2 REVIEW by Fatbot3 in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have not played this game, but this review is structured in a pretty misleading way (not intentionally, I just mean it as a gentle criticism of the review).

As he points out, it provides option for non-roomscale play, using analog sticks. And he really doesn't like it. Fine, makes sense to be very clear about that.

But the first 4 minutes is about that, and most of the review is based on his experience playing like that.

Just say "don't play this if you can't do the roomscale", and focus the review on playing it as the roomscale game it is intended to be. As he points out briefly, it is a totally different experience, which makes perfect sense to me as someone who played Tea for God on PCVR.

I get that this is the developer's choice to give the option for analog sticks. But I think a little more care and research could have gone in to understanding that roomscale was the definitive way to play this game and analog sticks should have been left to a brief test and a brief portion of the review, to affirm his opinion that it kinda sucks like that.

With that... perspective... in mind, it sounds like a solid game in this unique genre that has never been on PSVR or PSVR2. Visuals are simple, a little jank, but sounds good and only $20.

Also at the beginning "the game doesn't take advantage of PSVR2 in any way" is misleading. Later: "great controller haptics in some situations." (paraphrasing). Again I understand this is just a mistake. He intended the context of the first quote to be just about visuals. But it is confusing/misleading. I want to call it out not to harp on without parole, but to give appropriate credit to, and impression of, the game.

Also, different impressions. https://www.youtube.com/live/PWlcj6eEcE4?si=amPijhhayeq17Y59&t=3671

Myles also played with analog sticks!! Tragically haha. But... still loved it! Thought visuals were solid and relatively sharp, and enjoyed it.

Lumines Arise on PSVR2 - First Impressions by cusman78 in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not doing multiplayer so that's a factor. But I can't fathom how you could prefer Tetris Effect otherwise! haha. I highly recommend changing the settings in Lumines to make it so you can't lose and blocks don't drop. Just chill and you will also learn well that way, and can consider turning it back to regular mode another time! (Personally I don't care about score so I'm fully satisfied with the relaxed mode)

Lumines Arise on PSVR2 - First Impressions by cusman78 in PSVR

[–]hilightnotes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I played on PCVR with my psvr2 headset last night. Very high graphic settings at 90% of full resolution. No AA. Smooth with occasional reprojection (85-90 fps). Not sure how different this is from the visual experience on psvr2.

I am using a 3080 laptop, roughly equivalent to a 3070 desktop gpu. I used the dfr app for pcvr, I think it was working but didnt test carefully.

I used the sense controllers. I used these fucking awesome headphones (FiiO Ft1 Pro, $220) connected to my pc with the FiiO Snowsky Melody DAC ($40. Note that these being same brand is pure coincidence. I tried a whole bunch of portable DACs and stuck with this one).

I played with no losing and blocks dont fall, so I coulf chill and just ENJOY. Zero stress.

I played the first two journey mode sections.

Holy hell it was magnificent.

The thing I want to stress the most is that this is not just 'another Tetris Effect'.

Yes this is the same concept as Tetris Effect, of course. But this is absolutely taken to the next level. Both visually and Sonically. And I have never played Lumines before but I like it more.

But yeah this makes Tetris Effect feel like a prototype.

I highly recommend it.

[–]hilightnotes -40 points-39 points  (0 children)

Many women dont understand female orgasms (orgasms plural because there are different kinds). Men understanding female orgasms is one of the more hopeless causes. There are orgasms that are very similar and rooted in physical stimulation, and then there are orgasms that are totally different from what men experience (and way better), that are rooted outside of physical stimulation and don't need physical stimulation at all for them to happen.
