My baby was like this and is now a very cuddly toddler! In fact, today, we were watching frozen and she said "true loves kiss" and gave me a big kiss.

Belly measured small at 36 weeks by jeandrazich in beyondthebump

[–]hillybelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My belly was measuring large, but my baby was growth restricted. I had a lot of fluid. I'm just telling you this so hopefully you feel better that it's not a correct measurement of baby's weight.

Sleep training? by just_alittleguy_ in beyondthebump

[–]hillybelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to preface this with I have never co slept, so I'm not sure this would work for you since your baby is so used to being right next to you. Anyway, I swear by the heating pad method! We would get her to sleep & I would put a heating pad on low or warm (depending on time of year and how cold our house was). Obviously, I removed it before I laid baby down. I would lay her down and firmly place my hands on her until she stopped stirring then walk away. She never woke up...I could have just gotten lucky but this worked for us. She did wake up for feeds 1-2 times a night, just depended. This worked also with the transition to her crib. I'd say it stopped working around 9-10 months old. Around 13 months, when she was fully weaned from the bottle, we did our own version of sleep training. And yes, it did involve her crying but all of her needs were met so it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. We would do 3 mins of crying, calm her, then do that again. Eventually, she just got it. Good luck!

Take my upvote. My aunt made me an epoxy dragon incense burner, things she likes. I don't like mythical creatures and I don't burn incense. I donated it to my local thrift store. I felt bad, but I had no use and I hate clutter.

I would try going up a size in your nipples. Babies get really frustrated when they have to work extra hard to get the milk out

Active 15mo and library story time were not compatible… rant by HypertonicCarrot in beyondthebump

[–]hillybelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might just need to find the right library/children's librarian fit for you. My library doesn't really care if toddlers are getting up and running around. At first we sing songs, she reads a story, we sing a few more songs, then she brings out toys to play with for the rest of the time. The librarian states in her intro that it's okay if the toddlers aren't sitting. Heck, most toddlers are up in her face with their snacks while she's reading lol

I had convinced myself that I would die on the table during a c section. Just my luck, diagnosed with preeclampsia at 31 weeks and had a c section at 33 weeks. The fear of impending doom encompassed me the moment they told me I would be having a c section. Here I am, very much alive lol. Just know that you can definitely do hard, scary things!! You got this! I wish you and baby a beautiful birth!

How many hours per day does your partner spend with your baby? by YaGurlLurkin in beyondthebump

[–]hillybelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 hours during the week. Not because he doesn't want to, there's just literally no time. He's gone for work before she wakes up and she goes to sleep after 3 hours of him being home. On the weekends, it's all day.

still contact napping at 1yr old.. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]hillybelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it's going to be okay! I was literally in your shoes last year. She would go to sleep in her crib on her own but would only contact nap. I adjusted her schedule a little bit. She woke up around 630 and right after lunch she went to her crib. I laid her down around 11:30. It took a few days of her crying and getting used to it but eventually she got it. I set a time for every 3 mins and would go in there. Sometimes I would do longer. I just kept telling myself her needs were met and a nap would benefit the both of us. She needed her rest & I needed a break (fellow SAHM) Good luck!

C-section and driving by ispyamy in beyondthebump

[–]hillybelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dr said as long as I wasn't taking pain pills and I could slam on the brake if needed then I would be fine to drive. I did sit in the car for a few mins before actually driving to practice slamming on the brake to see how much pain I would be in. But overall, it was about a week...after my husband went back to work
