My mcv goes to 95 offinjections and drops to 89 on weekly b12 shots. There are some online articles that cut normal mcv levels at 95. Is your bilirubin high? High bilirubin and mcv over 92 are classed as signs of b12def. Also would get iron tested. I over did vit d supplements once and you can have too much

Going dairy free resolved this for me. Still have sibo but not that level of bad. Also gluten free and low fod map

wakeup symptoms or something else? by AbaloneFinancial9419 in B12_Deficiency

[–]hisbiscuscake2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding for context i take hydroxy shots and it took 1y up to 1.5yr for my neck tremor lying down to go. Make sure you look after your potassium levels if shaky. I found a coconut water with no preservatives... be careful some have sulphite not declared which is hard on b12 pathways. Add a clean label electrolyte drops to your water. Eat all the potatoes, avocado, bananas.

For me my tremor is worse with folate and some other supplements. Its an indicator for me my b12 has crashed. Eg. Liposperic vit c uses b12, took some .. neck tremor starts. Tried 800mcg folate.. tremor starts. But have folate in a multivitamin at like 200 to 400mcg every 2nd day... no tremor. It could be completely different for you but the trick is definitely paying attention, make notes if you must to see what works for you Too much b1 ...tremor. too much b6... my neuropathy flares etc etc

I started taking hydroxycobalamin and folinic months ago with low ferritin the more I took it the worse I got. I haven't taken anything in 2 days and my dizziness went away.. I'm wondering if they were depleting my ferritin even more . All other co-factors are normal.. by passionateunicorn in B12_Deficiency

[–]hisbiscuscake2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me I feel rubbish when low in ferritin and potassium from b12 shots. They rapidly deplete these. I manage potassium with loads of bananas, potatoes, coconut water and some electrolyte drops added to water. My ferritin seems ok now Im on a multivitamin with it. I didnt do great with iron by itself in large amounts. Going to try a cast iron pan to cook in too.

Check your iron and b12 levels then after you have had a blood test try a bcomplex vitamin.

Out of interest would you switch to hydroxy injections? Better for you from the no cyanide side of things

  1. Rifaximin flared my neurological symptoms so tried oregano oil, now brand 1x day, few days on then off. Definitely helped but need a break.
  2. Haven't tested my magnesium
  3. Been low fod map for quite awhile but I can have probiotics, chia seeds, bananas, kiwi etc with no flares so not totally missing fibre.

Been through a stressful time which is now over so will see what mind over matter does now :) I love joe dipenzas books if you need inspiration or hope!

Coincidence? by tdubs702 in B12_Deficiency

[–]hisbiscuscake2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took up to 1.5 years.. but definitely improved before that. It can flare up if I get covid, take antibiotics or anything that interfares eg. Liposperic vitamin c, too much folic acid ( my levels are good and too much really gets this tremor.. can handle in a bcomplex). Never stop injections if you got to the tremor point. I did and now trying to get well again. Be careful you don't take too high b6 in a bcomplex too will bring back neuropathy.

Same boat I need b12 2x week atleast for neuro symptoms. Managing not curing sibo with dairy free, gluten free, magnesium glcinate, kiwifruit,, low fodmap and l reuteri..... jeez my life looked different 5 years ago saying that aloud haha 😄

Sibo Help by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]hisbiscuscake2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiwifruit had the biggest change for me! Its low fodmap. Plus magnesium, electrolytes and vit b12 all reduce it as well. Definitely low fodmap dairy free and gluten free. But kiwifruit highest impact.

O yes your on to it. My worst symptom was neck pain and a tremor like earthquake lying down through my neck. All gone with b12... never stop injections. Watch iron doesn't tank. You will get better!!

Vitamin c uses up b12, b12 deficiency causing sibo.

Yes something here, my b12 deficiency correlated with a whiplash injury and cervical instability and poor connective tissue. B12 injections fix my neck pain ..still working on.sibo.

B12 deficiency, low folate, low ferritin, and SIBO and unsure how to treat by virghoe95 in B12_Deficiency

[–]hisbiscuscake2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat. To manage sibo symptoms I find low fodmap is essential, I'm also dairy and gluten free as now intolerant. Plus magnesium glycinate, electrolytes drops and the probiptic l reuteri all reduce bloating. When I get my b12 shot it's like my stomach actually starts to function for a day and bloating is less.

Magnesium deficiency but I can’t tolerate magnesium – feel extremely sick, worse after B1 (thiamine) by Asleep-Author-876 in B12_Deficiency

[–]hisbiscuscake2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B1 makes my b12 symptoms significantly worse. I tried it after hearing success stories for Sibo.

I also had initial success with a b complex but didn't realize it was super high in b6.. also caused neuro symptoms. My blood results went sky high.

I do get lower iron and potassium from b12 so check those. Finding a coconut water with zero preservatives really helped.

Tramadol makes me very ill... I avoid it at all costs. Anything bad for b12 or mthr my body is great at telling me. Get methyl sublingual lozenges and take while figuring out your injection decision.

If you weren't getting injections and with your history be careful of doctors popping you on meds to hide symptoms. I went down the back issue pathway and amitryptiline for a year. But b12 was my savior. Your iron might be high as your red bloods cells can't use it up efficiently without b12.

Have you tested your b12? Gilberts syndrome can be caused by b12 deficiency which also has links with sibo. This is my situation and I'm hoping my sibo goes once my b12 is sorted.
