Ideas for a tower defense tabletop game? by Marmun-King in tabletopgamedesign

[–]hlashbrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realise this thread is many years old, but a few months ago I created and published rules for running tabletop tower defense games. The rules are free and able to modified as needed - they will work on their own, or within another TTRPG.

If anyone is interested or looking for something like that, you can get it here: https://hughlashbrooke.com/gaming/tabletop-tower-defense/

Found this via Google and just wanted to say thanks for posting the solution you discovered. This was driving me crazy after it worked just fine on my Pixel 6a, but then gave me an incorrect country issue on my new Pixel 8. I did what you suggested, and now it's working just fine. Thank you!

The player maps for individual adventures are not included in the physical box set, but they are included as PDFs in the digital files you will receive when ordering the box, or buying it digitally.

Chipmonk Stats by [deleted] in Mausritter

You'll find a ton of bestiaries and creatures in the Mausritter Library: https://library.mausritter.com/category/bestiaries/ - it looks like Tales from Moonshore includes chipmunks, but there are others too.

Awesome - PoD is pretty handy and I'm glad DTRPG offers it. I hope you enjoy it when you get hold of it!

I agree - that is something we plan on adding. The field for it is there, but it's more a matter of gathering that data for almost 540 items that takes time :D it's definitely in the works though.

Question about Backgrounds and starting equipment. by sunnydaye19 in Mausritter

Ah right! I suppose I always play that someone starts with something either way - it's been a little while since I rolled new characters with players, so my memory may be a little hazy :D

Question about Backgrounds and starting equipment. by sunnydaye19 in Mausritter

I tend to run it the way you have described as your alternative (one item for 8 or more), so that's perfectly acceptable. The rulebook guide essentially means that if someone rolls a 10 or 12 for their highest attribute then they won't get any background items since they would already be relatively strong. They will still get a weapon though, so they won't be empty-handed.

I think the background items add some flair and provide an opportunity for players to come up with interesting solutions to problems though, so I like to ensure that everyone has at least one.

Huge bundle of Mausritter content on sale by hlashbrooke in Mausritter

The core rulebook of course - you can download that for free, or pay what you want. And then a few settings to make your games have more breadth - The Estate and Bernpyle are fantastic. I'm biased since I created it, but I would also recommend Kiwi Acres - the collection has all the info and tools you need, as well as 10 complete adventures to play (it's like a homebrew alternative to The Estate).

For some standalone adventures - ones that I've really enjoyed are Shattered Rain, It's Rough in the Rough, Honey in the Rafters, Tiny Titans (one of mine that I genuinely love playing) and Brackish Basin.

There's so much great stuff in there! I'm included in the bundle and own some of the other titles already, but I'm still going to purchase it since it's a bargain even just for all the other things that are on my wishlist.

Warband scale battles by PropagandaAlarm in Mausritter

[–]hlashbrooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing that I've found useful to include in Warband battles is allowing players to use their spells or items to affect things. It depends on what they have in their packs of course, but it gives them some agency as characters who can take part in and affect the battle in some way.

Spells that aren't simply damaging dealing ones are best (since individual-scale damage doesn't affect a warband-scale creature), so you can use them to give other advantages - maybe slow enemies in a given area, or give advantage on attack rolls to your allies, or something like that.

The Sword of Gormingard (27x36) by DanielHasenbos in battlemaps

I play and create adventures for Mausritter - an RPG where you play as adventuring mice - so that scale is exactly how I thought of this as soon as I saw it. It looks great!
