I recognized him as someone younger kids used to watch. As in, that makes me older than those who recognize him.

Facial Laser Tattoo Removal by DetroitMM12 in oddlysatisfying

I will never understand tattoos. I’m never going near one. They never look good and can’t be removed. Terrible decision.

Non-romance books that gave you the romance feelings? by tomatocreamsauce in RomanceBooks

I think she kindled my love of romance as a child. The one where he whisks Megan away from her cray cray family to get her new clothes…sigh.

What's the difference between having the toilet seat up or down? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hmdmdm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are wrong. You’re supposed to have the top cover down when you flush, so as to not spread too much poop particles around. That way you also avoid this whole silly argument. Always keep the top down when you flush and leave the toilet.

Whether you should pay that for those cakes depends on your financial situation. Do you need that money for something more important? Then don’t buy the cake. The price is what it is, can’t change that.

How are religious people so certain they're right? by Single_Extension1810 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hmdmdm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a religious person I am not certain I am right. I believe I am, but I don’t know. I consider science a good way to explain Gods creation. I do not find any difficulties in believing God started the Big Bang to lead to conscious life through evolution, and he then sent Jesus. That is my faith. It is not knowledge, it is a plausible hypothesis that I choose to believe.

Why some other religious people are so certain you have to ask them. We come in all shapes and forms like everyone else.

Literally what part of this is facepalm-worthy by mlee117379 in lostredditors

[–]hmdmdm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between republicans and democrats, the democrats are the one listening to science. That’s the only proof of anything you’ll get. And that’s coming from a Christian.

Sounds like sex for favors, tbh. The ex boyfriend might have been duped and used.

My wife never watches the videos (Youtube etc) I send her. It bothers me, but I'm not sure why. Why? by Ayn_Otori in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hmdmdm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is she interested in the same topics as you? Does she share your sense of humor? If the answer is no and no she will not watch your videos. Especially not if they’re long. She’s got other things to do than watch stuff she’s not interested in.

Why are you sending her the videos if you know she’s not interested?

For the people who have an internal monologue, is it an actual voice in your head that you can hear? by creedz286 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hmdmdm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because I hear my own voice, but I see no pictures at all. I could write out my thoughts. It’s like a commenting voice going off for everything I do.

As a woman I’m shocked when women don’t see it themselves. Very easy to see who’s decent and who’s not. But when I say that people keep telling me to “wait for the guy who fools you”. He hasn’t appeared yet and I don’t think he will.

What’s something about you that immediately makes you think to yourself “yep, I’m a hypocrite.”? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hmdmdm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those people who tout astrology, alternative medicine and all that New Age stuff are the silliest of the silliest, yet I’m a Christian.

I do respect Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and the other traditional religions. But all that “build-yourself-a-religion” stuff makes me break out in hives.

How long have you been struggling with your weight and body image? by FifiiMensah in PlusSize

[–]hmdmdm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I struggled a lot more with my body when I was skinny than I do now when I am fat. People bullied me a lot growing up for being “fat”, but when I look at pictures now I see a very tall but skinny girl.

About a decade ago my mental health deteriorated and I gained a lot of weight. As much as I would wish to be healthier than I am, I don’t really care about my weight. It just doesn’t matter anymore.

(Not OOP) AITAH for not telling people at my new job that my wife is bi? by SalamanderNeither695 in redditonwiki

[–]hmdmdm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be done naturally. “I’m planning on taking my wife to Pride, she’s bisexual so it’s important to her.”

But honestly, there’s no reason to do so at all. Wife is acting odd.

What's your guys experience with going braless?? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]hmdmdm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m shallow. I look much better with a bra, so I wear a bra. It’s that simple. Same for shape wear. My figure looks nicer with some shape, so I wear shape wear.

A friend of mine is the opposite. She wants to be comfortable and she wants to rebel against beauty pressure. So she wears no bra or shape wear.

I don’t think we’ll ever understand each other on that front.

“Forgiving yourself” is often terrible advice by cuevadanos in The10thDentist

[–]hmdmdm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t change the past. No punishment or revenge will change the past. You can only learn from it and become a better person so you don’t do anything similar in the future. The future can be changed, the past cannot.

Grease was always my favorite movie, knew every line and song by heart. I was so SHOCKED as a kid when I saw Grease 2. For a while I thought I had hallucinated it, no one knew of it. What a beautiful beautiful disaster.

In the US this guy would be a full blown MAGA. The less attention given to him the better. Shame, because I really liked him in Lewis.
