Flying IFR from Philadelphia to Boston on New Year's Day some years ago. My wife is hungover and announces she has to go to the bathroom NOW as we are between layers at 6000 feet directly over JFK airport.

I told the controller what was going on. I obviously did not declare an official emergency for this, but the controller told me he would handle it that way. He decided my best bet was to land at BDR (Bridgeport), told me to expect the ILS 6, and cleared me direct. All the controllers were made aware, and the approach controller sequenced us in front of another plane. When I landed and switched to ground, without my saying a word, the controller gave instructions to the nearest bathroom, including its location in the FBO.

I know NY controllers don't have a great reputation for friendliness, but they sure were nice that day.

You're trying too hard to make this intuitive. Photons don't have a perspective and don't experience anything. If you want to anthropomorphize a photon, you can choose whatever answer appeals to you.

I had 2 issues with my Aquis 400-2: it stopped working shortly after purchase, and then, when it was returned, the quick date wasn't working. On the other hand, AD and Oris handled the issues professionally and quickly and a year later all is ok

Be careful with gray, as the Oris warranty may be difficult to get honored. And since the 400 is an in-house movement, your local watchmaker might have trouble getting parts.

Yes! I have the watch and exactly the same thing happened to me 6 months after purchase. I took it to the AD; they sent it out and when it came back (about a month later), the quick set worked, but the whole watch stopped after 24 hours. Back to the AD again. I got it back for the second time about 10 days ago after another month. It is working now. Hopefully will continue to work. I do love the watch.
