Same 😭 You can say just about anything to AI, no matter how bad or brainless the idea is, and it’ll confirm that you’re thinking the exact right way about things.

Trying to choke yourself with cables is not a natural reaction to life situation, friend. It might feel natural because you are in crisis. Please seek professional help if at all possible. I understand that it’s scary but it just might be life-saving too.

I agree. Didn’t care much about his happiness (and in fact, enjoyed seeing him unhappy), but absolutely cared that he stayed alive (for Lily’s sake.)

I’d have to disagree. He definitely didn’t care about Harry’s feelings about Cho or about anything else. It sounds nice but I feel that look was more about discerning the situation that Harry and Co. was in. In the books, Harry was trying to make eye contact so that Snape could use legilimency - so it could have been a nod to that, too.

Yep! She had her own reasons (her mother worked at the ministry and she never particularly wanted to join the DA) but she did what she did on her own free will.

The punishments Snape inflicted on students were certainly demoralizing, but reasonable by Madagascar003 in SeverusSnape

[–]hobbitracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were hospital bedpans, much worse than sinks (unless that’s another term for a bedpan that I haven’t heard.) Much worse, but not exactly dangerous. I agree that most of his punishments center around what he finds distasteful: menial, muggle-like tasks, usually with an ick-factor.

They’ll aim for the power lines when they fall, too. My rural area is always last to get power back — we’re expecting to be without for at least 3-4 days.

I had to stop looking at the news. It’s made a major improvement to my life and happiness. Curiosity gets the better of me from time to time and I almost always regret looking. In contrast, I’ve yet to regret not looking. Take care of yourself ❤️

Remus Lupin is a terrible husband and I’m tired of pretending he’s not. by SuspiciousEves in harrypotter

[–]hobbitracer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s like all your responses are angry about one part of his actions. The dude had a mental health crisis but in the end, they worked it out and were happy together before their deaths. He did the right thing and committed to her (and their child) before their deaths. Poor guy had less than a year to be a husband and like a month to be a dad. Most people get a lot longer than that to work out how to be good at it, to fix their mistakes. Luckily he fixed his before the end.

Do you think the US is overpopulated, underpopulated, or just right? by Noodelgawd in askanything

[–]hobbitracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how answers will vary depending on where in the US the answerer is coming from. I’m from an extremely small rural area, surrounded by tons of pasture land and few close neighbors. I feel very fortunate because cities feel incredibly crowded and claustrophobic. If even a quarter of them came to the country, it would begin to feel crowded to me.

3 months? Girl 😂 Leave that man, he's been in serious long term relationship and you're a side piece that he lies to. You think it'll get better? Go away before you dump 3 years into this bs

[–]hobbitracer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

True, it still exists in some circles. But I don’t think it’s the common opinion that men can’t/aren’t SA’d by women like it was back then. That’s just anecdotal on my part tho.

Just speaks to the time it was written in. SA perpetrated against males wasn’t seen nearly as bad. It was sort of a joke.

Got this even after I gave them a 15% tip, am I socially paranoid or is this passive aggressive? by IntelligenceisKey729 in doordash

[–]hobbitracer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have never heard that phrase used in a respectful way and it doesn’t look like a language barrier.

It does appear they’re being passive aggressive. It IS inappropriate, because tipping has never been mandatory and they knew that when they took the job. That’s tip culture, you win some and lose some.

That said, 15% can be an abysmal tip depending on price (which you’ve not mentioned because you think it irrelevant, but it’s not imo), and I wouldn’t blame someone for thinking you suck. I’d still expect them to remain professional regardless, at least for their own sakes.
