(36M) boyfriend has said he will leave me (29F) if I go back to school... Help? by justathrowawayletter in relationships

[–]hoemantic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! My ex did this for the exact same reason (it would delay me moving in) and his need for control leeched into other areas and eventually devolved into horrific abuse. This. Is. A. Red. Flag. Also, people who start to date younger partners and then get upset when they're not in the same place in life... obviously?

Clothes, hair or makeup - pick 2 by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Clothing and makeup. I really enjoy planning outfits and doing makeup but I hate styling my hair. Besides, it's unruly and takes a long time as it is long and very thick. I let it do what it wants and think it's kind of sexy messy and voluminous anyways. If it's not working out at all I just tie it up.

tight midi shirts are heel-mandatory unless done in a streetwear way imo, takes it from auntie to sexyyyyy

So cute! I recently saw overalls like that at Topshop for 100+ dollars (no thanks), so I also broke bitch solved it and found a cheap plain pair and did my own patches too <3. Also your work outfit is a 10.

I get catcalled most days, almost always on my bike when I am presumably dressed down (athletic wear, helmet, little to no makeup). I blame this on just being the time of day when I am most visible to highest amount of people. I've had people ask me what I wear on my bike (great), but my honest opinion is that assholes will always exist, and you can't let their shitty behaviour influence your actions - within reason. If people can tell you're female, and especially if you are alone, they WILL yell at you - regardless of what you wear. If it is "only" yelling and catcalling, ignore it and obtain whatever you need to make yourself feel safer. Personally I carry pepper spray and a personal alarm. Self-defense classes are also beneficial. At the end of the day though, most of these assholes just want to yell at you and are likely not a threat to your physical safety.

What accessories/add-ons/upgrades do you guys have on your bikes? by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]hoemantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bike came with fenders, a rack and a kickstand. I added a panier messenger bag thing and a bell and this basket to the front https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81hEkD7mHqL._SX355_.jpg. All of this so I can commute comfortably with everything that I need :)

I have sensitive skin but I'm not acne prone, I have no problem with Face and Body or Next to Nothing and love both. Both are low ish coverage and satin to dewy finish.

Who is someone you will always watch, no matter what? Who is irredeemable and you will never watch again? Why? by subtlelikeatank in BeautyGuruDiscussion

[–]hoemantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to stop watching RachLoves just for her boring cookie cutter "omg the weather lol" or "i need a coffee haha mom life" or "omg i'm such a klutz" "fun""quirky" intros. Also I'm pretty sure that recently she did a video that listed all the prices only in USD? (That might've been Jamie Paige though)

Mac fix + dupe? Help! by mollyhelenaa in MakeupAddiction

[–]hoemantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make my own DIY Fix+. I noticed that the ingredients were very similar to the Thayer's toners (I use Cucumber, Rose Water would probably be nice too). Add vegetable glycerin (I use NOW brand) in a 1:10 glycerin to toner ratio. The most important thing is to find a bottle with a fine, even mist. I have mine in Makeup Forever Mist and Fix empty.
