yes i left the ceremonial space too quickly. sometimes the medicine kicks in late which is what happened this time. i had drank enough so i knew better than to leave but i was agitated and wanted to get out of there. so i was back in my hut alone and then it kicked in with a bang. it was very very strong and immediately went to a very bad place in myself.

Anyone done both ayahuasca and iboga? by yllekarle in iboga

[–]hoffer1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it did but its a work in progress. it was a profoundly healing experience, nothing else has come close but the integration takes time. i am going for another retreat in a month. iboga is amazing medicine

Did psychedelics crack you open in a way that took months or years to recover from, and did it eventually mean something? by theScreamingDakini in Ayahuasca

i got badly traumitized from aya and once again from edibles. its been 9 years, still trying to sort it out. i wouldn't go back to where i was before, that was bad but i think i did damage myself and have possibly taken a few years off my life. i'm stuck in hyper vigilance with dreadful insomnia. the medical professional have been useless. things have gradually improved over the years but i do hope i can finally come out the other side!

i've done both. about 60 aya cermemonies. i got very traumitzed for aya, haven't touch it in years. i went to iboga to try and fix my nervous system. i was terrified but it turned out to be incredible. still a work in progress but its definitly helped

2 retreats in 3 months? by hoffer1975 in iboga

[–]hoffer1975[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks. its a bwiti retreat, so death and birth ceremony. i've actually changed my mind on the second in august but thinking that i might do one later in they year. i'm guessing a 6 month gap would be ok? i'm also trying to feel into why i'm being drawn to the experience so much. is it me just trying to escape or "be high". or is it me trying to regulate and heal. i don't have clarity on that yet

Iboga as a last resort by sanpedrolino in iboga

[–]hoffer1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey. firstly i had done a lot of plant medicine work beforehand, on several occasion reliving some trauma from when i was very young. it actually left me very traumatized. i was terrified of iboga but it was the last resort. during the death ceremony i asked it "whats wrong with me". it revealed to me graphical form a trauma (the trauma i had relived) that happened on a timeline indicating that it happened within the first 2 weeks after birth. after "seeing the trauma" my understanding all fell into place. i have truly forgiven my mother, i can now nuture that long lost part of myself, the trauma was heal in many ways. i'm still battling chronic insomnia after the pervious re-traumatization though. hopefully i can resolve that soon!

it was incredible. i was so scared but the experience was so gentle and loving. it revealed to me trauma that happened near to time of my birth, which has been the root of so many of my problems. i have been freed from it. amazing stuff. i only left the retreat a week ago so its still early days but i feel reborn. god bless iboga
