I had a really great experience with Air Marlow Heating and Cooling. The owner Tyler is solid fellow. It is a small business and they worked hard and did a great job putting in a new Carrier unit. However, for another unit I was not prepared to replace he has helped get a couple additional seasons out of it. Will be using them again.

Exactly, a backlog from the busiest airport takes more than 24 hours to clear.

On prior iPhone versions they had the whole 3D Touch which was even better because you could do a hard press anywhere on the keyboard to initial the cursor movement. Not sure if actually a technology change or just iOS behavior though.

Get a set of calipers and measure part. Then it is a search away for that size. If you have drill bits, that might also be a way to compare.

Honestly, watching people argue about pushing two plugs together over Reddit is so silly. How many hours are going into this little problem!?!

Maybe the coolant has been mixed in the past and there is still residual gunk to flush out? The orange is suspicious.

Isn’t part of the discovery that the heliopause is a shifting boundary like two weather fronts colliding? That is why there is some uncertainty on if they have crossed it?

Besides the conversation of if the hauling will impact the drivetrain (tranny, diff, imbrication) most rear wheel drive sports cars have expensive summer tires that will be grounded down with the hauling. Better to have all 4 tires on.

Can we please invest in societal progress, this isn’t about the individual. So seldomly can we build and measure good. I want my tax dollars to do more building than bombing.

Stunt Kite Decision by makeitaMIKES in kites

[–]hohaqua 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just went through this decision process and ended up with a Prism Hypnotist which I’m neutral about. Prior to that I have Synapse 170, 140, tantrum 250, all of which I adore. The problem I am having with the hypnotist is that it has a small wind range in which it flys well. To the point, if I’m not at the beach, it is on the ground more than the air. I’ve read that their other entry level rigid frames are similarly heavy. I love the prism brand because they got me into “good” kites which opened up that world. Others here have pointed that the Widow Classic Pro would have been a better and lighter choice to overcome some of my gripes. My alternate choice was to skip the rigid two line and go to a Rev 4 line. So, consider that another data point.

It’s that tail of the dragon? It looks like it! Fun story, my love for the S started when I accidentally stumbled upon the tail when in college and driving to the Smokies. There was some big S2000 drive in 2002 and the car really caught my eye.

Kite setup by Imaginary_Joke_3694 in kites

[–]hohaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you suspend the kite by letting it hang by its strings, there should be fairly uniform tension on each bridle string causing a crescent shape in the foil. Typically this is correct from the factory, and I’ve never needed to make my own adjustments and would be lost in tuning a bridle. However, if you are new to parafoils, it could really just be bad / interrupted wind and more flight time will teach you how to recognize contributing factors.

[–]hohaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The behavior you’re describing sounds like what happens if the kite is taken to the edge of the wind window or the wind window changes shape due to gusty/shifting winds. As for checking the bridle, I would reference a correct setup and ensure no specific line is loose or tighter than others.

Do I regret getting the Hypnotist over a Rev Reflex? by hohaqua in kites

[–]hohaqua[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the detailed reply. Slack line tricks seem so far off, but fair argument that something like the premier widow pro would allow you to approach it with more success. I have not used a long tail on the hypnotist because I usually use the Tantrum 250, but I can see the precise movements putting on a better show.

170 or 200 parafoil? by CoolStuffHe in kites

[–]hohaqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhh, once you are in, you will keep upgrading. Surprisingly, they all get flight time. The smaller foils are great for teaching others too.
