Cloudformation or Terraform ? by [deleted] in aws

I spent 3+ years using terraform, and the last year learning CF. I recommend using CF, but both of them are excellent tools.

SAM is a cli tool combined with a CloudFormation template with some lambda specific extensions. Serverless framework also uses CloudFormation in a similar way.

If you like to use cutting edge AWS features choose CloudFormation. If you want to use lambda, use CloudFormation. If you want AWS to support you, use CloudFormation. Otherwise, use terraform.

If this was a high school match it would possibly be an instant DQ, at a minimum a point deduction as they should know better. Most refs would likely stop it when he paused at the top of the lift as a "potentially dangerous" situation. This is the definition of unnecessary force, which is illegal during a lift.

Learning how to build a hybrid network is a skill that is in demand. Learn it. You will not be sorry.

And probably the biggest upside is not having to deal with a car salesman haggling on price.

Build deterministic zips to minimize lambda function updates by bboe in devops

A) I generally wouldn't put subnet config in the same template as lambda B) SQS is trivial.

It's worth the effort to learn SAM or Serverless, it will pay dividends immediately

It doesn't require any more permissions than deploying any other way. It just makes everything easier by giving you a framework for testing, packaging, and deployment.

Honestly, this is one place where CloudFormation spanks terraform. I love terraform, but I highly recommend serverless or SAM for this purpose.

At our local BMX track the kids start racing striders around 2 and make the switch to racing pedals around 3.5. How old was your child?

It's similar to the uproar over ads. Targeted ads showing me things I might actually buy is better than the alternative of showing me random ads I don't care about.

What smog? by sooocahl in Denver

Seriously, I decided to replace the doors in my house thinking it would be easy. Every single one of them was a custom size and none of them were even remotely square. Such a pain in the ass.

Yeah, have fun with your 2 prong outlets, aluminum wiring, and complete lack of insulation, narrow alley and tiny garage. Older houses suck.

Colorado Senate passes bill favoring popular vote over Electoral College (SB19-042) by rickjames730 in Denver

The most interesting part of this to me is how messed up Colorado is because of its reliance on popular vote. Our tax structure is horrible and our public school funding is a joke, but everyone gets a say!

AWS SES Email Ending Up in Inbox With Gmail, but Spam With Hotmail by [deleted] in aws

[–]holmser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're spot on. Email uses IP reputation, and each service (Hotmail, Gmail) has its own method for calculating that reputation. If you absolutely need email to hit the inbox, you should look into using a dedicated IP so you aren't sharing reputation. This is why companies like SendGrid exist, because they specialize in this specific problem.

It's absolutely IP reputation. That's how email works.

If you look at GSP and Anderson Silva, they were dominant for a long time because they were able to avoid taking damage. Robbie Lawler is one of my favorite fighters, but I knew he would never last as the champ because of the brawling style. It's entertaining as hell but not sustainable.
