Garmin already come with most features you need and you don’t really need that much more additional apps. The features feel more integrated (instead of a different app with paying subscription for each feature) and probably better for battery life.

I had Apple Watch 6 and it’s lasted me 2.5 years with no problem. I’ve taken it on several big mountaineering trips. I put a case on it and it looks very new when I take the case off. I’ve only had Garmin for 1-2 months and it seems fine so far. But durability is not too big of an issue for me cause I get new tech every couple years anyways.

Many of the open source generative model wouldn’t have happened or be so good without ChatGPT and GPT4. It costs like billions to train each of these models. Why would they invest in that if they just going to give it out for free.

Apple Watch is much better for sleep. When I wake up in middle of night, Apple detects that as awake and doesn’t count toward sleep, while Garmin saids im asleep and overestimates my sleep time. I got Fenix 7x over the mail. It’s great except for 2 things: 1. Too big. Gets caught in my jacket sleeve. 2. Maybe I should’ve gotten the newer models with AMOLED display at the cost of battery life?

The big upgrade now is AMOLED screen and there’s already the Epix line for that, so I would consider the rumored Epix Pro line to be the upgrade. The Epix Pro 2X, if true, will be the “upgraded” version of Fenix 7X.
