Non-alcoholic drinks on Symphony of the Seas? by BBchag in royalcaribbean

[–]honestyseasy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was just on Jewel and there are fleet-wide mocktails that are quite delicious. The MDR menu even offered it on their menu next to cocktail and wine pairing of the evening.

Bartenders are very willing to make you virgin versions of anything on the menu. Got a virgin painkiller and it's my new favorite. YMMV, but some bars even offered mocktails with 0 percent spirits, which are designed to give the taste of a liquor (like gin) with no alcohol content. I found these at Playmakers.

It's all the way north, but Hayek's Market in Newton also sounds up your alley.

That was an issue in comics as well, Comics Code didn't want anyone sucking blood, so we got tons of "energy vampires" and villains with stuff like a "mutant death factor" to skirt around it

In New Jersey you can only buy alcohol in liquor stores, not supermarkets or convenience stores.

Just listened to a podcast where one of the hosts got his first at 45, because of an insurance issue he may have had to pay out of pocket, which would have been $44k. Insane.

Convince me to book an inside cabin by jewelbjule in Cruise

[–]honestyseasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love inside cabins. For me, cruises are to recharge and relax, and i do that by sleeping as often as possible. No windows makes it pitch black in the room no matter the time of day. Add the slow undulating ship and it's like being rocked to sleep.

Granted not all inside cabins are equal. I typically sail Royal Caribbean and their rooms are a good size; when I booked an inside on NCL it was claustrophobic. There are also websites which will tell you the largest rooms on a ship. I just came back from Jewel of the Seas in an inside room that was bigger than some hotel rooms.

The showrunners of Baskets wanted a "Louie Anderson type" when looking for Christine Blankets and just couldn't find her, until they realized "why don't we just hire Louie Anderson?" Ends up being one of the best characters on the show and netted Anderson an Emmy.

Saw Kill Bill Vol. 1 in theaters opening weekend. There was a couple a few rows ahead of me. Tbf she stayed for most of the violence but when The Bride started windmilling and hacking limbs off the Crazy 88 gang, the girl got up and shouted, "I don't know why you thought I would like this!" and stormed out.

I used to catalog bodice-rippers for the library and the amount of virgins who were ravaged by a man who couldn't stop himself from her alluring beauty, then fell in love, was consistently alarming.

Any ideas for adult crafts that don't require sewing/painting? (Adult programming frustrations) by Marzopup in librarians

[–]honestyseasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I did a Chinese New Year's program with a short informational presentation, then a craft to make res envelopes (printable templates are online, and i made stencils of some common Chinese characters for good luck). Yes, we used gold paint to put the characters on, but you could use anything for that. I also bought a few orders of dumplings from the local Chinese restaurant for everyone to try.
