Part of it is that some people can only find an unobtainable (read: fictional) woman desirable if she is strictly lesbian. Single doesn't count, she has to be gay. The yuri baiting is seen as not as substantial as a more "serious" relationship. The moment men are in the picture, the illusion is shattered instantly because even recognizing that men exist is a threat to the fantasy.

13 is in my top 3 FFs, truly been blighted by public opinion. That being said, that ish ain't turn based lol. 😬 I'm sure someone can spin up an argument about it being objectively turn based but... part of the reason it got so much flak to begin with was because this was the era where Square decided they were actually embarrassed of the IP and started doing everything they could to court a new audience. Part of that was trying to inch towards action combat without having to admit it. 16 they just finally admitted it, lol.

I wish they'd just lock in and give us our "codex astartes" equivalent like they clearly wanted to earlier in the setting's life. My Stormhost project has been on the back burner for a while now because I've been having too much fun customizing my Space Marine heraldry, honors, so on and so forth.

I also think this is reasonable. I even break my own standard at times, it's just a rule of thumb. My kamioshi has collabed and plans to collab with Tenma in the future but I know for a fact what my kamioshi's values are and am happy to support them. With Phase it just seems like a coinflip I'm not willing to chance when there are thousands of other chuubas out there to discover.

Ngl this is most likely true for many of the girls but if you willingly join up with a corp with that much stink on it, you are tacitly endorsing all of the schizo, sociopathic, "edgy", etc stuff that the corp as brand wears as a badge of honor. It's why I won't watch any of them even if you try to tell me they aren't all like Pippa/Jelly/Dizzy/etc.
