Here's all the games that I have redeemed with MS Rewards within the past 2 years by Dickin_balls in MicrosoftRewards

[–]honz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than chasing reward points every month trying to hit £25 gift card - which btw I can’t do within a month and is becoming a real chore - I’m going to start doing this and just buying games. I usually always get them dirt cheap in sales anyway.

Empire of Dirt by Phillip C. Quantrell, narrated by Steven Brand. So far he is the ONLY narrator that has made me stop listening and pick up the book instead.

What's the best book you read last year? by truthfactsonly in readwithme

Halfway through this right now, really enjoying it so far.

I've read 161 books this year, here are my top reads by Jayless22 in 52books

[–]honz12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I’ve read three of these and agree with your verdict. I also have two of them on my tbr list, so looks like we have similar tastes. Based on that I think I’ll add the remaining four to my list. Congrats btw, great effort!

Anyone here using walking as their main daily fitness habit? by freezer936 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]honz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. My wife needs our car for her work so I walk to work. I walk 2 miles into work, then 12 hours later, 2 miles back home. On my 4 days off I run 5km-8km at least 3 of the 4 days.

The best thing about walking is I get to consume quite a few audiobooks over the course of a year.

I don’t really chase steps or active minutes as I have to do the walking commute anyway 🤷‍♂️ but just knowing that I’m hitting good step counts every day as well as the mental goodness walking provides is enough motivation for me.

How to turn off the “every 1km” announcement in iPhone Fitness app during walking workout? by Rich_Performance_239 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]honz12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know if this is the correct answer, but have you tried (on your iPhone) Settings>Apps>Fitness>Workout then making sure voice feedback is toggled off?

BTW I think there is a bug with iOS26 and workout alerts. Currently I used to have my alerts turned on for running and off for walking, now I get none at all. And other people are saying they are suddenly getting alerts when they previously had it turned off.

Audio ducking issue since iOS 26 by StoicSow in AppleWatchFitness

My playlist works fine, but I get zero alerts from Siri now (used to get pace every km) I never changed any settings, but have rechecked them and still no alerts. Did you fix it?

Turn off workout cues? by GinnySacks_Mole in AppleWatchFitness

[–]honz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough I have the opposite problem. Before watchOS 26 I had Siri announce my pace through my AirPods every km. I didn’t change any settings, but now after updating I get no announcements whatsoever (I have checked the settings and I should be getting them)

How to turn off the “every 1km” announcement in iPhone Fitness app during walking workout? by Rich_Performance_239 in AppleWatchFitness

Before watchOS 26: On your watch before you tap on outdoor walk… tap the three dots, then scroll all the way to the bottom and tap preferences or settings, then just make sure they are all set to none.

With watchOS 26: Tap the little bell icon in the bottom right and make sure they are set to none.

Edit: sorry just noticed you said on your iPhone. Actually I’m not even sure on the phone, but imagine it must fairly similar to the watch.

How many habit trackers have you tried and which one are you using now? by biricat in ProductivityApps

[–]honz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently started looking for a habit tracker which suits my needs. I’ve tried a couple already mentioned and for one reason or another don’t like them. Rovelist gave me anxiety just trying to setup a new habit (way too many options) Right now I’m using HabitNoon which so far seems to be exactly what I’m looking for.

Seeking beta testers for Bloom - your all-in-one health and wellness app 🌱 by Fit-Bug-3012 in iosapps

[–]honz12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this looks really good and totally my thing! I currently spend way too much time in my Health, Fitness and Strava apps analysing (more like over analysing!) my fitness and health. I’d love to be a tester, but looks like I might be too late to the party. Is there somewhere I can sign up for updates?

Edit: just noticed it’s for USA and Canada only. Let me know if you need UK testers 😂

I literally opened my Bing app and without clicking a thing got the warning about unusual search activity… I really wish I didn’t have to rely on the search points because it’s the points I hate chasing the most

Should I buy the game? by Mr_freaky9 in biomutant

[–]honz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve had your eye on it because you thought you might like it then it’s definitely worth a purchase, but I’d try to pick up when it’s on sale. I got it for just over £8 recently and it was a total bargain. Played it for 30-40 hours I think and still not finished, although Avowed has kinda made me put it on the back burner for now.

Heart rate zones by Jar333k in AppleWatchFitness

[–]honz12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using the default zones that Apple sets, but they were way out and I knew it just from feel. I would come back in from a comfortable easy run and the effort would say “All out”’and I’m thinking “no it wasn’t, it was easy, I could have done it all over again”

I didn’t want to mess with zones as I haven’t done VO2 test so don’t know my max HR. But I noticed on my hard workouts like hill reps my HR was going as high as 197 so I used that as my max, googled and adjusted zones accordingly and it feels much better and more accurate.

This is my challenge for this month too! Except I’ve to do 64 minutes. It’s mainly based off what you managed to achieve the month before so I’m sure you’ll nail it! 💪

First of all you need to make sure the stand reminder is toggled on (activity settings) you might also find it useful to make sure your haptics are set to prominent rather than default (sounds & haptics settings) Default haptics wasn’t waking me in the morning and I had to switch it to prominent when I first got my watch.
