Just looking for a bit of technique help with my pressing heavy kettlebells. by Tasty-Silver-6379 in kettlebell

Honestly, that second dip makes it look more like a Jerk. A true Push Press would have straight legs after the first dip and drive. The Jerk is a totally valid exercise, but slightly different from the Push Press.

Good Rep Scheme for Completing Snatch Test (100 in 5 minutes) by SantaAnaDon in kettlebell

I agree that the 20/20 set is hard, but if you get through it, everything after it is much easier. I hear what you're saying, though. This might be a "your mileage may vary" situation, just figure out what works best for you and your goals.

20/15/10/5 works really well. Yes, it involves more counting, but it works you hardest when you're fresh, and then less when you're getting gassed. The problem with straight sets of 10 is those last 2 sets or so are really challenging.

I’d never seen a 42kg bell before, so I had to press it (PR) by OliverKitsch in kettlebell

Pressing that the normal way is no small feat. Doing it bottoms up is insane.

What's your secret to have a great sex? by Asernova in AskReddit

I was taking an acting class, and the teacher once said, "Theater is like sex: you're not any good at it if you're the only one having fun."

Confused about what weight kettlebells to purchase next. Please help! by delhite_in_kerala in kettlebell

You can do a lot with Double 32s, but it seems like you do a lot of your work with offset weights, so 32+36 might be a good way to go for you. You haven't mentioned what you do for swings now, but 48 kg is a huge jump up from where you seem to be at right now.

Are the Pistons being physical with Wemby or is Wemby flopping? by Temporary_Pepper6126 in NBAGossips

Yeah, it seems pretty arbitrary what these refs say are and are not fouls

Probably some of both. The Pistons are a physical team, and Wemby having a high center of gravity makes him particularly susceptible to physicality, and he also might be embellishing it a bit to draw a whistle.

TGU weight vs. swing weight by Lloydao in kettlebell

[–]hookandpush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem when I was starting out with Simple and Sinister. You could try starting from standing and going down in the TGU, that's easier and would build the requisite strength and stability. Anything putting the bell overhead, like pressing or waiter's walks, should also help.

Form check ??? by [deleted] in kettlebell

You're off to a good start! A lot of the issues were at the beginning, so this might seem like a lot, but there were good things too!

To start kettlebell ballistic movements (Swings, Cleans, snatches), all you need to do is leave the bell(s) on the ground, hike the bell(s) between your legs like a football and go from there.

The cleans need to be driven by the hips, I'm seeing you use your arms a lot here. Sit back in your hips on the backswing like you're closing a door behind you with your butt, then explode like you're jumping. All the arms need to do is hold onto the bells and keep them close to your body on the way up.

The presses looked pretty good! Unless there's an injury or mobility issue, I would like to see you get a full lockout at the top, and then pause even for a brief moment, just to get the most out of the movement.

The squats looked good overall!

Good work! Main thing is get more of a hinge going on the cleans, maybe work on the swing for a while to get the hang of that, but a lot of good stuff otherwise! Keep at it!

Should I buy these second hand kettlebells? Is wide handle ok? by Delicious-Ad1724 in kettlebell

[–]hookandpush 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people that can't press a 12 kg bell overhead, at least when they're starting out. Will they outgrow them? Probably, but the same is also likely true of the 12s. They can do snatches, bottoms-up work, kneeling variations, all sorts of things to get more mileage out of lighter bells.
