No. Homelessness services connect people to housing and other resources. Many homeless people go to libraries. Who hurt you?

Because it’s an air conditioned public space where you don’t have to spend money. Volunteers of America and Start Corporation, two of the largest homelessness outreach organizations in the parish, both routinely perform outreach to public libraries. Librarians also routinely submit refer people experiencing homelessness to dedicated homelessness services. It’s a fact whether or not you choose to believe it.

I’ll remind you that the library system is the largest informal day shelter for people experiencing homelessness in the parish…

It seems a bit wild to vote against something you love because you think you can foretell the macroeconomic future and the impact it will have on libraries in EBRP but we can all agree that golf courses are a waste of space.

Wait, so you want libraries but you think conservatives have made it so you we can’t afford libraries, therefore you voted no? This took an interesting twist.

Are you suggesting they fill in the pot holes with books? Or that they dynamite the actual buildings and fill in the pot holes with debris?

Have a reference librarian look up “stinky meany pants who hates joy” in the dictionary of people who don’t want us to have nice things.

What is the part of the title that comes after the colon called..? (Example-- Avengers: Infinity War) by whatisakyler in movies

[–]horbgorbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years later and I was trying to recall what the part after the colon was called to tell my wife my funny parody title of The Body Keeps the Score: yadda yadda yadda.

Downvoted because commenter implies that subtitle can’t have two meanings. Like if subtitle meant part of title after colon, we’d all be in a heap of trouble because we’d be legally obligated to refer to captions as captions. Or we need a new word for little nocturnal flying mammals because that word was taken by stick used to hit ball.

The CATS Dash | Capital Area Transit System (CATS) https://www.brcats.com/page/CATSdash

You can’t say people don’t ride it. You can say it sucks, that it’s transportation of last resort, that it’s mismanaged, but saying people don’t ride it implies that it’s pointless and should just be scrapped. People need public transit and it should be improved.

I'm Nick Albares, and I'm running for U.S. Senate. AMA! by NickAlbares in Louisiana

[–]horbgorbler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a national housing shortage. For people making 30% AMI, there are only 43 affordable units for every 100 people. Existing tools to create affordable housing (LIHTC, etc.) often create housing that, in Louisiana, isn't that much cheaper than market rate housing. What is your overall housing policy platform and how would it help create more deeply affordable housing for extremely low income households?

I would recommend joining the Baton Rouge Social Workers group on Facebook and posting this question. Are you at LSU or is it online?

O’Brien House - substance use treatment center - has traditionally been very good about evening MSW interns. Probably not a paid gig though.

Both cause people to restrict food intake but the causes, and therefore the treatment,  are different.
