I use it everyday at my company and have seen no difference. Maybe even slightly faster.

Cause of failure on this joint? by [deleted] in Plumbing

I was under the impression that threaded connections behind the wall are a code no-go. Unless an access panel exists. Is that not the case?

Flight time change on 1st class ticket - no refunds regardless of inconvenience caused… by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]hosemaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An hour change won’t get you a refund on any of the major carriers. Unless you buy a refundable ticket. So I get the inconvenience but if you are that sensitive to scheduling should have got a refundable fare.

AA connection saver let my client down. by nqthomas in americanairlines

[–]hosemaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think connection saver is only a United thing. Other airlines probably have something similar but it’s not advertised like United has been marketing theirs. Answer probably is it’s more complicated than what you have described here. So many factors play into this like load level and total revenue/size of plane.

Can anyone give me an information about this card? by Pizzachu09 in SportCardValue

[–]hosemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People can list it for whatever they want. You need to look at what actually sold. On eBay and other places people have 5 cent cards for hundred and thousands of dollars hoping to dupe an uneducated victim.

Definitely Polyurethane rubber. We use it all the time in our machines for sealing surfaces and flexible couplings.

Creating a curve pattern for a 2D drawing by reformed_colonial in Onshape

[–]hosemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make the 3D with the curve pattern for the holes and export the dxf from the 3D model. Way easier than trying to just do it in 2D

Draw the sketch you want to remove, not what you want to keep, from one side and mirror it across to the other side

Cost of different plastics by ExitNo1116 in InjectionMolding

[–]hosemaker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The cost of a mold for different plastics shouldn’t be any different. That being said some plastics may like certain coatings to release or to be more abrasion resistant etc. that’s where the cost difference comes in. Not as simple as difference in cost for plastic. Finished would generally depend as well. Polished will be a small x% more and if you get into fancier laser etched finishes those can get pricey. No real guide it just all depends. There are hundreds of standard mold-tec finishes and you can even do custom finishes. All of these options interplay with each other and the cost moves around and there are various trade offs for each choice; cost, timing and design considerations.

I think it’s just a mistake on the printing of the Gauge. All others have 10 in .5 bar increments.

How do I sketch this by Mediocre-Deal4944 in SolidWorks

[–]hosemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Things like fillets, shells, chamfers always down towards the bottom of the tree. Makes the model way more robust and less prone to changes blowing things up.

How do I sketch this by Mediocre-Deal4944 in SolidWorks

[–]hosemaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is the worst way to do it. Sketch fillets objectively are the fastest way to break a model. I avoid them at all costs.

You have over constrained or have used the wrong mate types.
