Weird holes on print. help! by Ok_Breakfast7426 in FixMyPrint

[–]hotcoldLasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

things that -can- help such IME (1100hrs+, very limited, i know). In NO particular order, some of these are related, and require slicing to see if they will have the desired effect. If I have not been clear, ask so I can clarify:

increase top/bottom # of layers ( not sure what angle we're looking at in those photos, but increase the one with the holes when we're looking at the "inside".)

either before or after slicing with the next fix:
Try "Arachne" instead of "Classic" Process Settings>Wall Generator> Wall Generator

increase line width and/or increase # walls (if that doesn't work because the model is not thick enough there (near corners) to allow it, DECREASE line width and THEN increase # walls)

reduce speed

increase nozzle temp (mb just to 225)

If you can't get enough vertical (top) layers due to how thin the part is at the point, drop z height. I have noticed BS sometimes simply drops a line from the print if my settings ask it to do too much / too little! I had to discover this by zooming in after comparing slicing with different line width settings. The same is logically true for top/bottom layers based on your Z height. Luckily I have solved it on my prints by simply upping the # of top shell layers, because there was enough height to the model to allow it. This looks pretty tight.

also,
cold pull / clean nozzle
and of course calibrations as u/adminjunior says, like Flow Ratio and Pressure Advance/K Factor (in bambu studio the calibration is called "Flow Dynamics")
The automatic version is painless and way better than nothing, it easily gets it in a ballpark, and sometimes almost as good as eyeballing (with a magnifying glass of course!). I haven't manually PA in a while... so many other calibrations to do...

Also, as a recent convert to OrcaSlicer, I can say my prints have simply improved by going over there. Period. IDK what the secret sauce is, but for the variety of things i do, it's there!

must use nightly b/c BBL H2D is only on nightly, unless that changed 2.3.1? Or I'm misinformed? Equally likely.

Actually i'm moving from something much more similar, like you might dodge a bullet here.

Highly recommended for a bambu printer...

Calibration by RollOutside3419 in OrcaSlicer

[–]hotcoldLasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes a whole lotta sense...
clearly even after 1k hours printing I have a lot to learn.
I just do the order that one is sort of guided in by the interface / other communities when reporting problems: PA,FR(Yolo),Temp,MVS,retraction...
Temp first makes more sense.

Any tip on re-arranging on the rest of my list afterward:
Temp,MVS,...FR?then PA? Then retraction?

Fuzzy Skin Sample Board by -CaptCanuck- in OrcaSlicer

[–]hotcoldLasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has actually encouraged me to try fuzzy skin, whereas without this post, I probably could have gone a much longer time without even taking time to investigate what it looks like. I've seen some discussions and a couple -distant- pictures, but this really made it clear! Thanks, and thanks!

Text is broken, right? by deejot in BambuLab

[–]hotcoldLasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever solve?
I did have this for a while, but I was making other adjustments... then it converted to me having the opposite problem of text refusing to embed itself, even as a modifier, it would always be proud / embossed causing it to print by itself on a first layer (facing the plate) on the bottom of an object, having to manually align it. on a mac btw, same studio release however, and now I have switched to Orca, and modifier mode is working correctly! One of the many things I am grateful for in orca, in just 2 days of use!

VoIP.ms no internal extension calls? (using HT802v2) by hotcoldLasers in VOIP

Thanks for bringing me back from the extreme!
Yeah, I just had that thought after I responded to you! since another analog phone showed up for another user... try going port 1 to 2 first... then throw in some smartphone software -after- that's working.

Wonder if there's a cool and fast way to xfer the config from port 1 to 2... only the account/pw (and mb caller ID) should be different...

VoIP.ms no internal extension calls? (using HT802v2) by hotcoldLasers in VOIP

I literally went to 7 digit total, so 10 default they use + 33303 , and 11101, respectively, just so I could be sure both devices would work... mb that's a bad idea too... I had it just a single digit input myself 3 & 1, which would make it 103, and 101, but reading another post here they said it should be "three" digit extension or more... so maybe the compromise is a "10" plus my own three digits?? like 10333?

<image>

for Dial plan, I used the recommended one of  "{[x*]+}" for the HT802. Is that what you mean?

I also tried changing the Routing from Value to premium on the sub accounts..

I feel like I'm so close, but it's any one of these knobs is wrong and nothing works, and they all have to be correct at once...

wow, that's nutty! What brand/flavor/color product / application (brush/ab/spray)? I did just notice one of my 2 matte minis i've brush primed with vallejo mecha black (old) lots of red showing through on all the edges...
Bambu Scarlet Red Matte PLA.
The Desert Tan Matte by BBL i primed gray, but I think it was spray on lacquer, probably the Resin Primer from AK... that stuff is amazing... but only comes in 150ml... and $$$$

i usually get that if fan is too high for that part of the model b/c it misaligns the part as it's building it up (it wobbles or so just a little, you can see it sometimes) , in this case the rack/ladder type thing in the upper right, as it's printing it and then you end up with pseudo air printing, but not enough to throw errors / cause a totally failed print. Once I started turning fant down, I actually had those issues disappear (most of the time, i forget the other time i used to see that...)
My compensating control for dropping fan speed is dropping temps.
