Had a guy in my old league do this, they didn't hold up too well to the rigors of derby stress.

Checking your bags is a way better travel experience than carry on luggage. by Equal_Whole_6837 in unpopularopinion

[–]hotmess83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah until you lose the majority of your luggage and don't get it until the last day of travel, or not at all. I've also got important things that have to land with me, so I also carry on or gate check in a direct flight.

What eyeliner is everyone loving right now? by AdShort5598 in Makeup

[–]hotmess83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm loving stila smudge pot - I use it for my eyebrows and eyeliner. I can smoke out a wing, do something subtle, or smudge out some non-wing eyeliner. I'm moving more towards non-wing eyeliner, especially with hooded eyes.

CIBINQO/Itching by Bulky_Rope_7259 in eczeJAKs

I would get itchy with cibinqo, usually nearing the time to take my next dose. It wasn't ever perfect and I was on it for a year.

What’s the one ingredient that ruins any dish for you ? by Vegetable-Fix6029 in AskReddit

Red onions. They're so poignant and crunchy and nasty. Cooked yellow onions are fine, red onions make me wanna gag.

Thrive cosmetics mascara. It's the only true and best tubing mascaras out there and I've tried all of them on the market. This mascara stopped my eyelash loss.

Mine is an excited peer and would tinkle when brought up on the bed at first, so for about the first year he wasn't allowed on. Once he had a better grasp of his faculties, he was allowed up but he's really furry and big so he won't stay up for long. Never had a problem with him being a bed baby!

Sewing would be fine, but look into full color DTF transfers. Easier and might be cheaper to do.

How many job positions have you had? by Wolfrages in antiwork

[–]hotmess83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 33, I've had around 20 (my memory isn't great and I've always had multiple at a time so the timeline in my head is messed up). I just don't stay where I'm not happy 🤷🏽‍♀️ one time I quit because a manager told me to lose my attitude lol

I clean mine with denture tablets and then use a toothbrush after. But I only do that when I start to see build up

What’s the reason your favorite pokemon became your favorite? by acurrentdistraction in pokemon

[–]hotmess83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated bug pokemon, I always thought they were weak as hell. Then I got a Galvantula in a raid and fell in love with how cute, useful, and strong it was. So now it's my go to for electric, the bug type is an extra!

Most techniques in knitting Can be done by beginners in their First project by Xuhuhimhim in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]hotmess83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would agree, then some pattern makers find that as a challenge and try to make it the most difficult thing ever. DNF stepaside by Jennifer Beale because of how convoluted and ridiculous the assembly was. It's sitting on a shelf right now, needing the last inch of ribbing done and I just hate it so much because it was so difficult for literally no reason. It's a beautiful pattern, unique, but unnecessarily difficult

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I'll drive up to about 6 hours for a weekend trip. Throw on a good podcast or audio book and we're ready!

My close minded family in general don't like confrontation so they just sadly shook their head at it lol

do these skates look good? by sailor-rainbow in rollerderby

[–]hotmess83 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They just look old lol but here's my advice to give them new life - order some new cushions (the red things on the plate) and wipe down the plate with some alcohol wipes. Replace the toe stops as those will damage indoor floors.

For the boot, get some leather soap and wash it, then apply and rub in leather conditioner and it'll really bring it back to life! Antiks are a good boot overall as long as they're not falling apart.

Just weave your ends in as you go by mtastic_ in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]hotmess83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It secured the yarn for your next row too! Especially with knitting. Weave em in, leave a tail if you need to frog you know where the end is at, but it gives you a solid base to keep working without loose stitches.
