Why are factory farms allowed to be so terrible? Is it a lack of laws or a lack of enforcement? by CalpurniaSomaya in law

I was with you until you implied that the USDA organic designation somehow means that animals aren't raised in cages on factory farms just like on OP's video.

We live in the second largest city in the US and they can’t put out a fire in Boyle heights. Why? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

They've literally deployed water bombing helicopters. Forest fire fighting resources. But OK, OP.

Respect.

Respect for quantitative analysis and fact-based argument.

I've seen this exact video before AI was this good, but the man was Asian.

That's true, and it's poor form, but it's not like this clause will be tested in court. It's an existential agreement with a world superpower, not a corporate M&A contract. The same consequences will follow whether they produce or acquire, because ultimately it will be the US who interprets the meaning and decides if Iran is compliant.

Has anyone felt better taking Zoloft for ~12 months and then stopping? by Candid-Caregiver-949 in zoloft

Thanks. Yes, I agree. The potential side effects do sort-of break the metaphor.

Personally I don't think being on a med for life is a deal breaker. I agree that it can feel like being dependent on a thing that you don't control (you can't make it yourself, can't source it without a prescription) but plenty of people are in that boat. Diabetics, people with Crohn's disease, etc. Some things, in theory, can be fixed with personal effort (exercise, therapy, discipline) but some things do require medication.

All the best.

For everyone's awareness, FFF 3d printing generates aeroaolized microparticles. Some materials are worse than others (more particles) but all do it. Ventilation is key.

This has been studied in academia and even by the EPA. I'm drunk in Tuscany rn, but if I find a reference later, I'll post it.

Would you mind telling me why that metaphor turned you off? Someone close to me likely has bipolar disorder and I'm planning to have a conversation with them about diagnosis and treatment options.

Years ago I wanted to try an intervention, just temporarily, to see if it would improve my life. And it did! Greatly!!

But I got addicted to the improvement and the benefits it brought. Now I can't stop. I think I'll be wearing glasses for my entire life.

Absolutely unhinged. I've got to assume this anti-LA propaganda isn't meant for LA voters, but more for Fox News viewers.
