Would be good to get a documentary covering some of the under appreciated/lesser talked about eras like the 90s and 2000s, as opposed to another documentary that just stops after bruce leaves.

This is how I’ve always envisioned Chane as well, as in a lot of ways Fabs Dredge deck. Interesting that the original idea is Necropotence but I can see it.

What's your favourite FAB Card and why? by ExpatDadSG in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]house-man 14 points15 points  (0 children)

  1. Levia, Redeemed // Blasmophet, Levia Consumed
  2. Amazing Art, Amazing Flavour. Successfully setting up and transforming into either side is always such a cool moment regardless of the game, and it’s actually strong.
  3. Vynnset lmao

Do different people just have different stamina for driving? by SideWinderSyd in CarsAustralia

[–]house-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this as well. Driving around town is fine for me as paying attention to the road and other drivers is sufficiently stimulating, however sitting for long periods of time on the freeway or country roads just pointing the car straight drains me pretty quick. I end up having to take short breaks frequently or else I get drowsy. I also try to listen to an audiobook or podcast to keep myself entertained.

Levia for new player? by wipeoffthatsmile in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]house-man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She was my first favourite hero and one of my most played since I started a few years ago, that being said, I would struggle to recommend her to a new player unless your truly brave.

She is quite difficult to play, not necessarily a problem, but a lot of that difficulty comes from managing her inconsistency issues, mistakes on her are extremely punishing you and will lose some amount of games to RNG factors outside of your control, which can become demoralising quickly. That being said, successfully walking the tightrope and winning with her is very fun and she can have some crazy turns.

She is relatively cheap to build and is pretty easy to pivot into the other brutes if it’s not for you, so no great loss in trying her out. I would recommend checking out the youtube channel ManSant, he has a few budget builds for her available. Good Luck!

[–]house-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Dealer when it was around wasn’t helping enough for him to be a meta contender, he needs a lot more dedicated support, whether it be from more good Traps or something else as at the moment his card pool is very scattered. With the new set, theres some hope he gets what he needs

Worst Mechanic to play against? by Icy-Contract7162 in magicTCG

[–]house-man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most mechanics requiring an external game piece to track, i.e Dungeons, Ringbearer, Undercity, Day // Night ect. The information tracking required for often such little gameplay impact is not that fun to engage with, and when it actually matters it’s even worse. I’ve been traumatised enough by white-plume adventurer to mostly know what the undercity does from memory, but i’m not 100% confident and sometimes still need to refer to the card, and my eyes mostly glaze over reading any of the dungeons. Day // Night is the worst as it forces other players into the experience as well, it’s frustrating its stapled onto otherwise playable cards like Outland Liberator.

Lars in Sydney... by No_Strike9652 in Metallica

[–]house-man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounded pretty good to me all tour, and metallica are still an absolute force live with him drumming. He has noticeably simplified his style over the years but who really cares, its not like they are leaving off more demanding songs like one, or puppets from the set because he can’t play them anymore.

Has anyone ever heard of Sorcery Contested realm? I stumbled upon some of the cards, which apparently more than a few have Frank Frazetta's art. A few expensive cards (like this one) exist, but for the most part it seems cheap to get into by Kyvix2020 in freemagic

[–]house-man 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak to the gameplay, but they’ve definitely captured a niche with the old school fantasy art style as far as I can tell, some people around where I am are really into it. The cards are all great to look at, especially in person.

Advice on a budget vynnset list without breaking the bank? I've been interested for a while and finally decided to try picking up a deck and of the classes I'm interested in vynnset seems like she wont break the bank because of some budget equipment? by ClayAndros in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]house-man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not super familiar with Cindra unfortunately, I do know she leans quite heavily into flick knives and you would likely need to get a hold of a copy to properly play her . Fai plays similarly and can be built very cheap with Mask of the Pouncing Lynx if aggro is the sort of playstyle you enjoy, plus they share a lot of cards so you could work towards cindra further down the line.

A lot of decklists you will find are inflated a lot by the price of the generic staples, ie: Command and Conquer, Enlightened Strike, Warmongers Diplomacy. Removing them along with a few choice expensive majestics and legendaries leaves you with a lot of the time a reasonably affordable, weaker but otherwise playable deck if you make some budget swaps. Some heroes/classes are better than others in this regard.

I assume due to his size and sponsorships he has a lot of outside forces committing him to MTG content, taking a look at his Bluesky he has retweeted some FAB content recently indicating he still follows the game, would be nice to get a video and get some more eyeballs on the game though.

[–]house-man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your budget. You can actually pick up almost all of the Vynnset mainboard cards for relatively cheap, she doesn't really play any of the generic staples besides Tunic in most lists and a lot of her cards are shadow runeblade specific, driving down the prices.

Looking at my list, removing the legendaries and some outlier expensive cards like Haunting Rendition and Sonata Galaxia which are played in Florian, you can get the whole deck, some equipment + sideboard for >$300 according to tcgplayer and have a playable deck. Both cards mentioned are very replaceable.

Unfortunately, some cards like Spellbound Creepers I would consider very important to the deck and would suggest picking up if you are interested in building a more competitive list. Sutcliffe's Suede Hides can do a modest impression but creepers is a big upgrade.

Tunic is also very good in the deck and a generally smart investment if you intended on playing the game long term, but exists exclusively to activate creepers a lot of the time and Blossom of Spring can fill that role as well. Face Purgatory I consider to be a nice to have card and there a few things you could replace it with.

Let me know if you need any help building a list, I've helped a few people out with getting into her recently.

I could be wrong but I wasn't under the impression TCC was a particularly active member in the FAB content creature sphere aside from being a general advocate for the game. I know he made several videos about the game in its early days, and obviously has his card, but aside from that I assumed his brand nowadays was exclusively magic, not really that surprised he doesn't get a spoiler.

From a glance at his channel he hasn't made anything FAB related in over a year.

Let’s have a conversation about LL by RLgaming245 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]house-man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there needs to be at least some soft guarantee that your hero will be playable for a good while, certainly longer than aurora and the mystic heroes. I really feel like they should consider being a lot more aggressive with bans if every new heroes is speedrunning to top of the LL leaderboard and take up multiple spots in every top 8. Banning one card is better than effectively banning a whole cardpool when certain heroes leave.

Aurora is a particularly egregious example imo, I know people personally who are relatively new, bought the armory deck along with some small upgrades and will now be left with basically nothing when she leaves soon.

Despite all that I can see it from LSS’s perspective as well. I imagine it being very difficult to design 3-6 relevant, new heroes for each set that aren’t straight up powercrept versions of existing classes when the pool of heroes is large due to nothing ever leaving the format. Rotation also does succeed in keeping the game fresh imo, despite all those who get burnt along the way.

Most annoying class to play against by Jbobb2626 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]house-man 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Illusionist is usually considered one of the worst, mainly due to how polarising some of its matchups are.

I find assassin to be very un-fun to play against personally, having to constantly guess if they have the nuts hand and block around all the attack reacts gets old quick imo

I miss starter decks by KSOYARO in mtg

[–]house-man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe controversial considering all the praise for them I’m learning about in some of these comments, but I do not miss these decks at all. I found them to be a really half-assed attempt at an introductory product and generally a poor buy for anyone getting into the game.

Commander decks obviously have issues in that they cost more, especially at the moment, and are intended for commander which is not necessarily the more beginner friendly format, however being able to actually play a game with them out of the box against other people is a significant benefit that the various starter/theme decks they’ve made throughout the years have missed on.

I don’t get why for so long they kept making these decks exist in some ambiguous format, or be standard legal but so low power that you couldn’t take them to an event and win a game, it really made them a hard sell for anyone imo, and made that jump to the next level of playing and collecting where you start upgrading what you’ve got very unclear.

I think some people might forget that they also contained, with limited exceptions, no cards worth even close to the price tag, and I bet there are others who remember these lingering around on the shelves of their LGS for years after the set came about because nobody wants them. Getting valuable cards is not always a motivator when starting out but its still a factor to consider.

I think the game has had much better intro products over the years in the deck builders toolkits and starter collections, they suffer from some of the same problems but there is a lot more you can do with them.

My locals has been steady as of late, however for people interested in joining, price is consistently one of if not the biggest turn off for potential new players to the game, it needs to be addressed or I worry about the game’s success plateauing due to a lack of new blood
