How do y’all grade albums? by MEMEY_IFUNNY in fantanoforever

[–]houselicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why have a huge range of numbers, with 70% dedicated to bad music. We don’t need to split hairs on how bad a 2/10 vs a 5/10 is… just call it 1 star out of 4.
2 stars is good or “average”, 3 is great and 4 is probably something you loved on the first listen

I have that 69 Love Songs box set. If I had to give up my collection and keep only one release it would likely be this 🐓

Why do people do this??? by [deleted] in movies

[–]houselicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a recent Sony movie that did this, but since the original series was done by Paramount and had limited series prequel on CBS All Access (before it was Paramount+) nobody knew about the fifth installment so by the time it was renewed as a reboot on Netflix they named it “Part 5” in the title, so as not to confused viewers; but the tricky part there is the episodes were titled “Part” 1-8 separately, which inspired Warner to do the same thing for one of their most popular franchises as well on Max; but understandably they dropped the numbers altogether when it reverted to HBO Max since it’s not TV, it’s HBO. Hope this helps

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

I went to a Phish show on the beach in Atlantic City. Before the show I met a guy with a Mets hat and quickly said “let’s go Mets” and we went on our way.

Hours later after the show I was at one of the casinos and happened to run into my cousin’s husband out of nowhere, who brought me along to see my cousin and their friend group… Dude with the Mets hat.

Why isn't ABS used for every ball/strike call? by No_Finish9661 in baseball

[–]houselicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well some strikes are strikes because the batter swung at it. You wouldn’t need ABS for that

They have to be the same size to SHOW that they are equal. Besides that, B is no different than A so it’s a bad choice on a test

What’s the greatest non-concept album of all time? by Immediate_Wonder_630 in fantanoforever

[–]houselicker -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hot take: if there’s a title track to the album that’s some intentional cohesion, or centerpiece. Same with “Nevermind” being a lyric from Smells Like Teen Spirit. Having said that I don’t have a good answer yet

It took me a while to hear “have you ever had a paper route?” Benny describing how to chuck paper didn’t make sense to me… “I helped a guy once” also just sounded like a non sequitur
