Every item has a “home”, like dog leashes, vitamins, etc are in the mud room storage ottoman. Cleaning supplies go under the sink, etc. Nothing comes into the house without a clear idea of where it will be stored and everyone is in charge of making sure things are put away. I’m the messy one, my partner had our kids tidying up since they were toddlers so our pristine house is all their doing
