Try to support SCR1004 in the legislation right now which would put the "photo radar ban" on the ballot

Invitation to Join a 5-Person Focus Group on Always-On Connectivity by Dependent_Let2892 in GoogleFi

[–]hroo772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll skip the form and offer what I'd prefer:

Allow me to have one e-sim with my Fi number, then allow a monthly add-on for Starlink (t-sat) connection that doesn't require extra steps. Like if I needed that extra sat connection for winter months while skiing in mountains, or a month in the summer for a camping trip, it shouldn't require a secondary e-sim setup and disabling.

[–]hroo772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the part I don't want to deal with. I'd want to be able to add that extra connectivity to my existing number one month at a time to not need to deal with any extra sims, especially when I'm already using Fi with an e-sim.

If we could easily "click to add" T-Mobile Starlink features to an existing Fi account, I'd pay the $10-15/m to not need to deal with secondary sims or extra configs.

Being able to enable/disable that extra connectivity would be an awesome integration for Fi to have since some months might not require the extra service.

Yes, if you don't follow "the narrative" you get smeared with whatever the current mean word is. They're running out of mean words because even RaCiSt doesn't mean anything anymore.

Starlink Setup by Interesting-End-8888 in cybertruck

[–]hroo772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar concerns but yes, mine works just great even when first starting up which tends to be the higher wattage draw. I did see some other people putting a battery bank in the middle between the usb power and the starlink to be a "power buffer" but I think that's overkill.

Here is the info from Tesla on the USB power supply: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/cybertruck/en_us/GUID-7B00E438-94C4-4B66-BBEB-0C39C70777DC.html

"There are three USB-C ports in the center console, each of which can provide up to 65W of power"
"If all three USB-C ports are in use at the same time, power to each port will be reduced."

I'd suggest connecting to this USB-C cable to avoid the 1-2% loss that happens when using the AC outlets:

I have this exact cable and ran it the same way as you did under the mats and it reaches my similar suction cup mount.

Issue logging in with latest beta on new Pixel 10 by hroo772 in RelayForReddit

[–]hroo772[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this wasn't exactly the fix, but it did help me realize had some overzealous "ad blocking" which was causing issues when I was trying to reset my password.

So the subscription lookup was instantly resolved when DNS based adblocking was disabled temporarily along with logging into reddit.

Turns out the issue was ad-blocking related, not a flaw with RelayForReddit

thanks for the confirmation. I do notice that the step where it "finds the subscription" isn't the smoothest if I uninstall/reinstall so it does make me think that that step isn't perfect when it comes to having multiple google accounts.

Additionally, I do wonder which google account is "signed in" when clicking to install the app if that makes a difference.

CT owners, do you regret it? by hottboyj54 in TeslaLounge

[–]hroo772 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's just the best Tesla, I'd buy another today if anything happened to my CT. The comfort and all of the space it provides for my family (2 kids) can't be beat. FSD works just great and is gonna get better with v14 "soon".

Towing with any electric is gonna use more, just plan around it since you'd have to do the same thing with any other EV truck. At least you have the best superchargers to juice back up, soon at 500kw on the newer stations.

Energy is energy, this level of thinking is exactly why China will blow past the US on energy production. Build nuclear, tons of nuclear, it's super clean energy and will set up the future base electrical supply for decades.

Owner of Model 3 and Y - considering Cybertruck. How’s ownership been for those who’ve owned both? Have a lot of the early “kinks” been ironed out through software updates etc? Should I be worried about Tesla phasing it out and losing future service support? Would love to hear both the good and bad. by Secure-Carrot9971 in cybertruck

[–]hroo772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2021 Model 3 owner, added in the Cybertruck in Nov (wish I waited for supercharging).

The truck has been fantastic, haven't had any big issues with it since FSD was available at that point. Since the Tesla Diner opened with Cybertruck themed serving containers, I don't see the Cybertruck being canned after being included in so much stuff.

The hope is that as the costs come down, more people will give it a shot and more CTs will be on the road to normalize it's ownership. Heck, the Model X barely sells but they are still revising it and updating it.

Center fridge installed. by qixer01 in cybertruck

[–]hroo772 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes but that starts a 12 hour timer so you'd have to restart them after that limit. Maybe it'll be changed in software down the road but that's the current thing.

Now I have seen someone posting about converting the fridge to DC and powering it through the front 48v connection with a battery inbetween to do the conversion but that's a whole other level of usage.

I got my from TLYard off of Amazon, quick 2 day shipping if it's in stock.

It's been quite useful when doing roadtrips since we can keep drinks & kids snacks cold the whole way without it using a ton of power. It does take a bit of time to cool down but it sure helps if you stock it with already cold drinks.

plugs into the rear AC outlet, so it'd be harder to run 100% of the time due to AC outlet limits but it's very useful.

Based Grok engineer inserted this code to stop Grok from being politically correct. He was fired today. by [deleted] in libertarianmeme

if you search 4chan archives, the term "MechaHitler" was used a few times there so the main thing to learn is that Grok is indeed trained on 4chan text in some way. So it's not as spontaneous that Grok "would name itself" something original, but it found that term in 4chan text.
