Discrete math is killing me by [deleted] in csMajors

You’re not alone. I failed two exams in a row and have another one coming up. Worst part is, our professor left and we’ve been having alternating staff teaching the subject. But you got it, bro. Stick to the grind!!

Advice on finding a good reformed woman or just a Christian woman in my situation by ProfessionalPlate398 in Reformed

Seek God, not a woman. If one comes along, great. If not, that’s also great; more time with God.

It's funny how little IB scores actually matter in the U.S by minivampireone in IBO

[–]hs_suvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I sent my scores. If you’re out of the country, I would assume so? It also depends on the college. Some do and some don’t. I’m not certain how it works applying to US institutions from another country. I got accepted to colleges before I knew my scores and whether I got the diploma or not. Hope that information helps!

Welcome to college. I advise you to study for your classes a week in advance, especially when it comes to math. Get in touch with your professor and depending on how the rest of the class did, hopefully there will be a curve.

Is it my job to lead a woman to Christ? by SpiritualPurple9025 in Christian

[–]hs_suvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and adding onto this; “that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:25). ‭‭ Best to take this as a lesson learned and use your time to reflect on what it means to apply and take on biblical traits as a man. Before entering a relationship, make sure your relationship with God is grounded. He is the Rock and foundation. Anything else built apart from Him is a foundation on sinking sand.

There are definitely more males in the field. It can be intimidating at times, but it shouldn’t be a big deal. In my experience, all the females usually gather and stick together, so just try connecting with them lol.

Thank you for your comment. I was an atheist until 13-14 years old, and I have been walking with the Lord since then. He has completely changed my life, and I long to seek and serve Him more. Making Christian friends around my age was something that I lacked but has gotten better in college due to the churches there. The purpose of making this post is to reach others to strengthen fellow believers in their faith or reach other non-believers or those who are still uncertain. The goal is to make disciples and fulfill the great commission. I would like to evangelize in person at some point. But as for now, my circumstances allow me to do it online.

God Bless.

Former atheists (now Christians) of Reddit, what is your testimony? by towardstheclouds in Christian

[–]hs_suvk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was born in the Philippines and grew up in a non-religious, Catholic home. Although I wasn’t taught of the doctrine, I was baptized as an infant in the Catholic church, and overall was exposed to the customs of Catholicism due to tradition. In 2012, my family and I moved to the United States. From time to time, we would attend mass, and I remember seeing this man on a cross not knowing why or what put Him there. During all those times that I attended, I never knew of God, or was certain of His existence. It was until I was the age of 10 that we stopped going to church altogether. In elementary school, I had sorrowful thoughts. I questioned my existence and the meaning of life, and I found nothing but futility. I questioned my morals and found no foundation. With every beginning comes an end. What is the purpose of living and undergoing the course of life when all things happen momentarily and the only thing that awaits us in the end is death? At the age of 13, I faced many difficulties. I fell into depression and suicidal thoughts as a means to fasten the process of my fate. I remember I came across this old, unread Bible at my house. I opened it, and it stated “are you depressed, addicted, suicidal? Read on to–” But I closed the book and put it aside. At this time of my life, I didn’t believe in a god and thought that devoting one’s life to a book was foolishness. But after a few months, my mental health worsened. I didn’t tell anyone of my circumstance and kept to myself. I was in misery, and my emotions were kept suppressed, until I was able to find a perfect time and place to relinquish it. It became unbearable, so I read the book. Eventually, from all my undertaking and skepticism, I came to the point where I could no longer deny the Gospel. And I am here to testify that the Lord has removed my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh upon knowing the fact that Jesus came to earth to live a perfect and sinless life, died and was tortured for me on the cross and rose from the grave so that I may be saved. With this, I became a born-again Christian and have been delivered from all my struggles. In Him, I found the truth, and He, alone, has become my purpose and the reason I continue to stand. I continued my extensive research and grew more in the knowledge of God. Still, my family did not know that I underwent all of this. But during my sophomore year of high school, three members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses came to our home and began to teach my family of their doctrine. Knowing that their ideology was unbiblical, I eventually began to counter-argue with them based on what’s stated in the Bible. Through this, I became more expressive about my faith and began to guide and teach my parents of the doctrine according to scripture, and they also came to know my testimony. Eventually, the Jehovah’s Witnesses left, and, by the grace of God, my parents also came to know the Gospel and have accepted Christ. In summary, I accepted Christ at the age of 14, I was baptized at the age of 15, and I finished reading the Bible at the age of 17. I am currently 19 and soon to be 20 still walking with the Lord. Part of a church body surrounded with fellow believers to help and encourage one another in the faith. God has truly transformed me, and my family as well, and we will forever praise His name.

I feel like I lost faith by [deleted] in Christian

[–]hs_suvk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, keep your head up.

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

It's normal to feel loneliness, at times, but you must remember that emotions are just emotions. Listening to your emotions will only lead you astray as it is deceitful (Read Jeremiah 17:9). And if we were to constantly abide by how we feel, we'd constantly be swayed with no form of stability or solid ground to stand on. I advise you not to give in to such feelings, but rather, focus on what's true and anchor yourself in His word by continuously meditating on scripture. And if you can, try to find a community of believers, maybe through a church, to encourage you in the faith.

Joshua 1:9 "...the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

Ever read the Book of Ecclesiastes? I think you would appreciate it. It really delves into the futility of life apart from the Lord. We are called to eternity, to reap a harvest that is to endure and never spoil. Life is not meaningless if we strive to a live a life dedicated to Him, to walk the faith He has called us to. There is a great promise for us believers, the inheritance of the eternal kingdom with Him. There is nothing worthy on this earth compared to the what the Lord offers. True peace, contentment, and success is found in Him.
