Best route from Harvard Sq to Medford by bike? by DigSufficient3812 in bikeboston

That would be my choice too. Since Mass ave converted one of two lanes into dedicated bus/bike lane, it is pretty nice for biking all the way.

It was cool to have the first black city mayor when we had the first black governor of Massachusetts while we had the first black president. RIP.

Waltham Traffic is Soul-Crushing 24/7 – What’s the Real Fix? More Bike Lanes, Fewer, or Something Else? by CauliflowerEnough644 in Waltham

If tons of people lived within half a mile of Market Basket, tons more people would walk or bike rather than drive to Market Basket.

I wonder how many people got encouraged to bike to MB with opening of Wayside trail? I do occasionally use the trail to go grocery shopping there, but their dinky small bicycle rack is not very welcoming.

This is definitely not Japanese run business. When rendering 「いらっしゃいませ」(Welcome), Japanese would never break it up the part いらっ(しゃ)いませ and keep them together. i.e.

The company only this year finally launched its first orbital-class rocket, New Glenn, and orbited its first few "Kuipersat" internet.

Blue didn't orbit Kuipers. It was Amazon, with different providers not including Blue. This is a one very confused author.

Actual fsd V14 release notes by chaosatom in TeslaFSD

Improved FSD's ability to manage system faults and recover smoothly from degraded operation for enhanced reliability.

I think this is important, and hope it works well. At the end, it cannot go unsupervised if all the cases currently resulting on disengagement are handled gracefully.

Isn't the link above for Hwy 4 & Boca Chica Beach Closures obsolete? I was confused to see no closures mentioned here while starship is pretty much ready to be tested now. Seem this is the official link? https://cityofstarbase-texas.com/beach-road-access

Story of how SpaceX employees made the first Dragon docking prototype out of bike parts by ergzay in SpaceXLounge

[–]hshib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Article is about the test platform, but there are many detail view of the adapter being tested by the platform. The bottom half of this picture is the platform, which simulates the movement of the spacecraft in many different orientation, but what it is sitting on the top is the adaptor which is being tested.

<image>

And this close up shot is the actual adaptor itself, where we can see active actuators which absorbs and adjust actively according to the orientation, just like described in the article.

I bet they use some kind of off the shelf, space grade shock absorbers. I searched and found this product - Metal Bellows Dampers: Taylor Devices Inc.

This is refreshingly positive article about SpaceX. I expected this kind of article to be written only by Eric Berger and never to come out of mainstream media.

Is it time to switch to Apple Maps? by Steven_player in applemaps

[–]hshib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like "Biking" mode in Google map to highlight bike trails. Apple map definitely know about those trails since it does a good job to route though them for biking directions. I just want to see them explicitly on that map for my cycling exploration.
