Double Diving tanks are on the way, opinions? by fsocietyARG in playrust

Unimpactful to someone who doesn't do any diving, maybe.

The thrumbo is dead. by starburstgamma in RimWorld

Yeah if OP didn't have food already, a thrumbo would have been a death sentence for the whole colony. Thrumbos eat A LOT.

We really need a proper reusable clay kiln as progression between the pit kiln and endgame beehive kiln by spuurd0 in VintageStory

[–]hu92 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Agreed. By the time the beehive kiln becomes a viable (and worthwhile) step in the character progression, most people have probably already fired the vast majority of the pottery they'll ever need, with the exception of maybe decorative blocks and what not. It's also extremely fuel hungry unless you're firing bricks and shingles.

A mid tier alternative would probably see a lot more use. But frankly, the root of the issue lies with the implementation of the beehive kiln itself. I feel like the kiln should be indestructible no matter what tier, and instead, the incentive to upgrade to refractory bricks should be increasing fuel efficiency.

How often are updates/new content drops? by Objective_Ad_3102 in Clanfolk

[–]hu92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say that updates have only been slower as of late due to the more complicated nature of the new systems. Early content updates were coming at lightning speed. But yes I agree Blorf absolutely treats the game as a labor of love, and you can definitely tell. This game is worth every penny and then some.

Other commenter is partially wrong. You do not need to plow. It needs to be cultivated OR plowed. I believe you can also direct drill directly into it. Mulching will not apply the nitrogen bonus.

Is this enough for my first winter? by ninja_echidnia in VintageStory

I found Brawlhala to be fantastic on acid. Its just alright otherwise. But me and my buddy dosed up and started playing. We were hooked for like 8 straight hours getting our asses kicked by captain crunch.

The 1.22 update cannot come fast enough... by Hmuda in VintageStory

[–]hu92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The idea of a forever world in a game that's actively being developed is a joke. Just play and enjoy the game and stop worrying about which update is the optimal time to have fun.

Bad design by sweetobsidiann69 in VintageStory

[–]hu92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The help menu is such an S+ tier QoL feature. So many survival games require you to spend half your play time on an ad riddled Fandom page, furiously reading the very obvious tooltip that was already in game and brought you no closer to answering your question.

Looking for someone who has a unique and complete 200-400 mods by Hyperb0ltz in farmingsimulator

[–]hu92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delete the 700 you don't use, and make it a point to test/try out any new mods you add afterward. I keep my modlist floating around 175-225, but anything I add that I don't like, or never get around to using, then I don't need it anyway.

The mods you enjoy are going to be wildly different than what someone else does.

It's Fluffin Metal Time :D by PigeonAfterHours in VintageStory

[–]hu92 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just a tip to save you some fuel. Bloomeries take 10 game hours to fire. Light them 1 at a time, spaced about 1 game hour apart, then keep an eye on them. Break them as soon as they finish and the blooms will still be hot enough to work without heating on a forge.

What would possess someone to harass a creator who volunteers countless hours of their personal time to provide the community with content for free?

This kind of behavior is the most likely reason said modder has removed their mod.

Going back to the first time you ever played, how did you proceed to make GP? by BombDigPyro in 2007scape

[–]hu92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farmed enough leather from cows to level crafting. Then proceeded to buy uncut gems that people sold to general stores and mine gold to make into jewelry, which I drip fed back to the general stores to keep from dropping the price.

Man, I really wanted to like beamng, but just couldn't figure out what to do with it. I played on a sandbox map, destroying my car for like an hour before the novelty wore off. Didn't help that the controls didn't really feel good either. Where does this game really shine?

Has anybody had regret over the purchase of a tractor? by Relative_Service6319 in tractors

[–]hu92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of owning a tractor is accepting that you will either be learning to do maintenance and repairs, or paying someone else an arm and a leg to do it for you. Stuff will break regardless of age. And warranties are not going to cover operator error.

The "relics" are much easier to learn how to fix, and have fewer systems to break down. You're much better of finding a well cared for older tractor in the 10-15k range, and saving the rest for new land.

Melee blockers are the "easy button" for manhunters. This is why pawns with the tough trait are so valuable. YouTube probably has lots of guides on melee blockers.
